I'm looking for a story. I think it might have been a romance but I'm not sure.
The main character is a high school coach. I think he is a girls basketball coach although that doesn't really play into the story. One day one of the girls sees a photo in his office. It's the coach posing with a famous singer and her band. He doesn't want to talk about it. Later the team convinces him to tell the story. The singer was his girlfriend when she was first starting out. For a while he tried touring with her. They were deeply in love. But he couldn't deal with the touring. They split and he became a teacher and coach. Turns out that one of her hit songs is about him. Later one of the girls gets a message to the singer. She shows up. Don't remember exactly how it all works out but she's ready to leave the road and wants to be with him. They get back together thanks to his players.
