I usually buy the Lexmark cartridge like I should but the shop had run out the other day, so I had to buy a cheaper refill version.... damn the stuff dries up and I have to steam the cartridge each time to unclog it!!!

It's a few more days until the right stuff is in... :(

Sorry THO, I don't have the right stuff for you.

I wish I could have helped.

I'll see you later. I wanna hear about non-white x-mas on Bondi beach sex with Aussie elves.

Ah, thanks for the heads up on that T.H. I was wondering how those refills were. Now I'll just stick with the HP kind. :)

I tried the cheap refills once too, didn't have any luck with them either.

But, I complained, and they sent me my money back.

I had em work fine.. cept when the printer screwed up they said... nope you used cheap cartridges.. voids your warantee

I have heard people that have used the refills that have worked well for them, and then horror stories of them not making life easy....pick and choose your fate young bondage queens and kings... you have a 50 - 50 chance

And um, how exactly did we got about this "steaming"? Was there a lot of heaving and sweating and moaning!?

:D

If you've seen the price of Xerox cartridges you know why I use
cheapo versions.

All 4 cartridges for less than a third of the price. They work just as well as the genuine.

Only if you place yourself over the spout of the boiling jug and not the catridge... ;)

Especially for Epson printers- DON'T go with the cheap stuff. I took off for a coupla weeks on business & that cheap gooey stuff clogged all the heads on the printer. I ended up having the tech just haul it out for me.

He told me that I didn't have trouble with it before because I was printing on it on a semi-regular basis. That little interval when I wasn't using it gave it ample time to gum, goo & jam. He said if I had stuck with those oh-so pricey Epson micro inks that it would've never have happened.

So if you use your printer constantly & have no problems using the knock off inks... more power to you. Plan on not using your printer for a short stint? Then beware!

He was wrong. I don't do a lot of printing and I often have to run the head cleaning utility about ten times to get the dried ink washed out before I print something important.
