Are you fuckers who voted for Donald Trump--and especially you who are continuing to support him--at all aware of his indifference (as he trotted off to his New Jersey golf course again today) to Americans dying in Puerto Rico and the incompetence of his administration proud of voting/supporting him now? Why aren't you despicable dummies, as charged?

First thought when I woke up this morning: Have they frickin' helped Puerto Rico yet or NOT??

And I wake up instead to this: "They Want Everything Done For Them"

Words cannot express it. So mad.

Maybe the Puerto Ricans can flood the 48 states en masse as economic refugees.

This just in:

TROMP BLAMES SAN JUAN MAYOR AND DEMOCRAT CONSPIRACY FOR STORM DAMAGE.

Oh look, Obama!

That has nothing to do with the current issue, and your lame attempt at distraction makes you as disgusting as the rabid dog Trump is.

Before everyone 'groupthinks' themselves into believing Puerto Rico was a heaven on earth, before the Hurricane's...here's a refresher.

1. The Island overspent for decades.

2. Their infrastructure was in horrible shape...before the hurricanes

3. Puerto Rico was effectively bankrupt (yes, this happened under Obama) before hurricanes.

4. Their self-governance...is a joke.

Now...Two Hurricanes savage the Island.

1. They are totally dependent on the U.S. Their already-crumbling infrastructure was destroyed.
Here's a tip...Obama did nothing to help this island...and neither did any other President...Why...because they insist on their own freakin' independence.

2. FEMA, Military, and yes, Trump (waiving the Jones Act) is helping them. And yes...everything has to be done for them, because they've already demonstrated their own incompetence.

3. It will be decades before Puerto Rico is repaired. Basically, we'll need the same approach used after WWII. And after that's over...yes, Puerto Rico will go back to spending money they don't have, poorly managing their island, and insisting everything is fine.

The best thing to do is establish a board of directors to handle the bankruptcy, and keep them in place until the island's finances are stable, they have a functioning budget process, and a require them to run a budget surplus for at least a decade. After they do that...make them a state, with all the rights and priviledges thereof.

Then if they fuck it up....once again...it'll be on them.

Or...you can follow the democratic model. Give them just enough money to be comfortably miserable, and then use it as a justification to tax and spend more money that'll be wasted elsewhere. Why solve a problem, when you can use it as a 'crisis'....

P.S. Seriously considering purchasing real estate in P.R. It's a beautiful island!

Jay don't waste your time using facts with these people. Trump= Bad....wouldn't matter if they were praising P.R. . The complexity of the situation is too much for them to deal with. For those who are suffering my heart goes out to them and donations as well. I'm sure any time is to much time.

How many Antifa members have gone there to help? I'm curious haven't seen one food drive from your group or anything else.

Blame the victims.

(Who are you going to believe ? Someone that cannot stop himself from telling lies, or the people emerging from the wreckage ?)

Next time there is a national emergency, strap him into a parachute, and drop him at the very worst location, by helicopter.

I am sure that the Secret Service would be happy to help him navigate the issue of survival, in a devastated area.

Who are you going to believe? The people who hate Trump no matter what or people who are trying to look at the situation objectively. Let's face it most on the left wouldn't give a damn about those in P.R. if it wasn't something they could use against Trump. Stay angry and irrational it's served you so well so far.

Wrong.

I feel the same for them as I did for the victims in Texas and Florida. They need our help. It's a matter of saving lives.

You (and Trump) are trying very hard to distract from that basic fact. You're spinning around foaming at the mouth about everyone else and everything else but the urgency of the situation.

I don't give a fuck if it's PR or Zimbabwe or Bumfuck Redneck Texas.

If you want to side with Trump and let them all die, then go ahead and defend your position.

So to be clear that is a no your domestic terrorist group isn't helping. You know those savages in the klan are even doing that. So we've established your cause is bullshit.

I know there are some 10,000 federal employees on the island already there with more on the way. They've changed regulation sending more ships, and every day more efforts are being organized. Sounds like a real concerted effort to let people die....

So while you and your friends are sitting around drinking Starbucks complaining about capitalism people are actually doing stuff. Including myself, but you're a communist who wants to overthrow the government. Are you going to be satisfied with anything done by the federal government?

The island's infrastructure was outdated before the hurricane....you know the first of two. So yeah sorry it will take longer, but think it's racism if it helps you deal with your version of reality.

People who are on the scene, not distant armchair strategists and apologists.

Yes and any effort I imagine isn't fast enough. If you looked at the details of the situation you'd understand the whole situation better, but you're just a Trump hater with a new cause.

Oh fuck off

I'm as interested in debating what's going on on the ground in PR with you as I am with rolling in a pile of dog poo.

Just go back to the GB with your own kind.

Well, Anifa members often end up having their faces in dog poo. Be patient your time will come. As to debating, you're not very good at it. You don't like the facts you ignore them. The Soviets loved people like you.

A walking and jogging regimen seemed to alter people's ability to control their impulses. [/B]

It could help. Work off some of that sitting-in-mom's-basement fat too. G'luck.[/QUOTE]

Wow trying to turn it around on me. You aren't very good at it. Sorry, don't live in any of my parents' homes and make it to the gym regularly. Your the one losing what little is left of your mind because Trump won. Me I find annoying people like you amusing. It's like reminding gay people that supporting Islam really isn't in their best interests.

The thing is as true as these points are, this shit doesn't matter. 3.5 million Americans are in crisis. They need food and water to survive. The clown in charge only cares about ratings. He only cares about himself. How can you fuckers not see that?!

Sarah Huckabee Sanders has no problem with denying reality- She used twitter to tell the world that the Washington Post is publishing a false story about Trump's response to Puerto Rico.

How could military and the first responders be getting 100% support, if FEMA and Homeland Security were left hanging ?

“Give Trump a chance!” they said. Well, Maria was his chance, to help millions of our citizens. Instead, he tweeted and sneered. Disgusted

In crisis, our true characters are revealed.

Donald has shown his true self: narcissistic, petty, lacking in empathy, and failing to lead

Stephen King @StephenKing

Donald Trump, the master of self-congratulation. His picture should be next to NARCISSIST in the dictionary

MAGA - Morons Are Governing America

Calling a person names because of who he voted for is childish period, I'm not here to justify to anyone of you who or what I believe in cause I'm sure not going to change your mind just like you won't change mine. I see so much hate for our president and his family it's disgusting, calling me names because of what I believe in or because who I follow just shows your level of maturity, when is it time to grow up and worry about your own expectations. Thats all

I've not deep-studied PR history, old and recent -- Wikipedia helps -- but I've seen a few points.

PR is a colonial possession seized from Spain in 1898 along with Cuba, Philippines, and Guam. I'm not sure of citizenship then, but PR natives have legally been natural-born USA citizens since at least 1950. As a commonwealth, PR has limited self-governance but like DC is ultimately ruled by Congress. Congressional mandates like the Jones Act cause artificially high prices on all shipped imports, same as Hawai'i, but PR is poorer.

Citizens of US territories and commonwealths (and DC) are disenfranchised from presidential elections. Yup, none of-em did or could vote for Tromp, so fuck-em. I read that PR and mainland politics are totally distinct. Vast majority of PR voters don't identify as (D) or (R) and don't really know what those parties stand for.

Has PR's self-governance been less than perfect? Yup. Have Congressional mandates and indifference exacerbated PR's problems? Yup. Are PR's millions of US citizens second-class? Nope, such does not exist outside twisted minds. Has Team Tromp fucked-up a major relief effort for millions of US citizens? Yup; the toll has not yet been counted.

It's fun seeing you try to justify being a Trump Dupe/Dope. You increase in despicability. ;)

If you had half a brain and had been the least bit attentive you would have known before the primaries that Donald Trump was a total disaster.

The Media Really Has Neglected Puerto Rico

538 analyzed media coverage of the three Hurricanes and found:

While Puerto Rico suffers after Hurricane Maria, much of the U.S. media (FiveThirtyEight not excepted) has been occupied with other things: a health care bill that failed to pass, a primary election in Alabama, and a spat between the president and sports players, just to name a few. Last Sunday alone, after President Trump’s tweets about the NFL, the phrase “national anthem” was said in more sentences on TV news than “Puerto Rico” and “Hurricane Maria” combined.

Those other stories are worth covering, of course. But compared to the other natural disasters of the past few weeks, Hurricane Maria has been relatively ignored. Data from Media Cloud, a database that collects news published on the internet every day, shows that the devastation in Puerto Rico is getting comparatively little attention.1

Check the charts out.

I'll suggest that yes, there were CONUS distractions, but also that national and international media just lacked feet on the ground in PR. Not when the storm hit; not after, when non-uniformed outsiders weren't allowed entry; not now, when access is still limited, and commo and power links are still down.

If the White House wants more media coverage of federal efforts, they could fly in some Army PA and VOA reporting teams. A smart administration would have done so already to grab popularity points. This administration ain't smart.

Perhaps they're using what transport they have to send people to help and supplies. I have a feeling this administration doesn't care what people like you think. If he sent a film crew you'd be bitching about how many pallets they could have sent in their place.
