reported that the us defence chief claimed that the british sas are the best fighting force in the world.
nice to know eh?
another report claims that the sas have been told to allow the us delta force troops take out binladen if they find him first. many of the sas troops are considering ignoring the order and facing the concequences afterwards.

That guy is one of the only folks in our Fed government who seems like he knows a goddamn thing. I'm not saying I agree with everything he says or does, but he knows his shit.

I'm sorry, but he's not a real politician.. He's a nut. It's like he's always one foot below water and he's struggling. He'll ask a question and then give more info than usual. He'll add in a tidbit that you're not supposed to. It's weird. Not often will you hear a politician add in "OH! And We're shooting them!"

Y'know... I bet he sits in his office wondering "I'm the sec. of Defense... Why am I leading the offense?"

LMAO! He rules! He's a total nut, but he's so cool to watch in a press conference because he actually responds to questions with answers.

I can just imagine it now

Reporter: Mr. Rumsfeld, is it true that you smoked pot after college and during your job in the private sector?
Rumsfeld: (IN that odd, uncofortable manner of his) Well..uh... yeah, and not only that, but I was an acid FREAK!

If you look in his eyes, he wants everybody to like him, he's trying and nervous and stuff... it makes things interesting

What is this, the Oprah show? What is up with all this "he said, she said" bitch talk? I can't stand when those not engaged in battle, love to sit at a safe distance, and try and second guess what the troops and leaders are doing! The statement "quoted" is probably out of context, as I've worked with SF, SAS, and GSG-nine. No one of those groups display the feminine attributes needed to start this type of topic. They are professional soldiers that carry out their missions without question. It is a comraderie that the civilian world will never know.
I still hold high regard for all troops worldwide, and I still live by my oath taken long ago, "To defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic". :D

What feminine attributes would those be?

Rumsfeld nervous? Where did you flunk psych 101?

Damn straight! You wimmen with your feminine attributes have no right to be talking about mens business. What do you think this is, the Oprah show? Get back to being barefoot and pregnant like you belong. You should be seen and not heard. I'm a man damnit. Worship me!

The quote was from the McNeil news hour. They interviewed him and it went something like this....

Rumsfeld- ... and now we have to seek out and kill the terrorists.
McNeil- Through bombing
Rumsfeld-... and going in and shooting them. (Then he did that 'please like me and what I've said' nod)

Wow...one of those nods. Yeah...I gotcha. He's really insecure. Fer sure.

I think so. It's not like a Woody Allen nervous. But it's more of a "Hey, this is kinda my first war, so could you please be nice to me, I'm trying to get through this so don't yell at me. Will you be my friend?" Sort of thing to him.

Dude..the guy has been SecDef before, in the Ford administration, I believe. He has run several major corporations. The last thing he is, is nervous. Believe me on this.

Ok, maybe the Dude isn't, but his mannerisms, they're, to me, look like he is. I don't know what it is, so I watch him more and it only makes me wonder what it is with him.

in the immortal words of stonecold ss
"WHAT!!!"

still think the sas are gonna get to him before delta force

reminds me of Austin Powers

Why? Because to me, he looks as though he just stepped out of a time machine--all I can see is Nixon and LBJ and newsreals from the '60s.
