Either way, I do like it when a woman goes out of her way to do my bidding.

hmm... me too.

NO, I'M NOT A SWITCH!

funny story, at the munch everybody wear's color coded name tags so you know which way they go. red for sub, black for dom, green for switch. my first time there, all the doms were running around getting things for me... water, chips, etc. someone made a comment about it being backwards, the doms fetching for a sub. i said 'it's not a D/s thing. it's a male female thing.'

See...now this is the kind of thing I find so confusing about the whole lifestyle. I guess the differences are just in the way these things are "played out" in the bed or other rooms...:D  :catroar:

Good on ya, Chicklet!

Common conversation over the last few days:

Him: You have to be too damned good to be true; what's the catch?
Me: I'm sure I have annoying habits or something... can't think of any at the moment, though...
Him: That's okay... we can fix those.
Me: I know you will. :D You probably have annoying habits too, ya know.
Him: Of course I do... those we don't need to worry about fixing.

Have I mentioned how much I adore irreverent arrogant assholes with strong protector complexes?

Hmmmm... I've been told that I should be less humble. Interesting.

Finding the proper balance to pull off irreverent arrogant asshole, without being a ****, is really hard to do. I suspect you probably have the gene deep down inside, though.

;)

Thank you, I'd like to think so.

As a guy who was brought up to be a gentleman, it's somewhat amusing to me to be chatting to someone and to have her tell me that modesty doesn't become me.

I need to practice being a better arrogant ass, but it seems I show some promise.

If you were raised to be a gentleman, you have a much better chance of pulling off "irreverent asshole" than some guy who thinks he's "uber-dom"... the former works; the latter tends to come off as HNG asshat.

I do think I can pull off irreverence quite well, at times... but there can be a pretty fine line as well.

As with humor, timing is key.

I thought you could do with putting your feet up. Its not that you are lazy...its just that irreverent humo(u)r that takes it out of you.

......so I bought you a beer *cute curtsey*

Oh my gosh, me too. And to think I sometimes label myself a feminist.

And if she should ever fail to do such, you simply buy a cattle prod.

Feminist and submissive are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

I agree. Hence the 'rolls eyes.' I've had a person or two tell me the details of why I'm hypocritical for feeling positively for both.

To me, it's like so-called feminists talking about how much harm a stay-at-home mom does to the woman's movement.

Fuck them.

If a woman wants to be a stay-at-home mom or a housewife, then isn't the point of feminism that she should have that choice?

Likewise, if a woman (or a guy for that matter) is submissive, then denying that side of herself isn't being strong, it's being cowed into letting herself be someone she doesn't feel comfortable being.

*giggles* No, as with submissiveness and feminism....domness and swooning aren't mutually exclusive.

Suddenly, I'm liking the way this thread is going.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't one definition of feminism the right of a woman to own her own sexuality as well as her career path?

What takes more strength than admitting that you are a submissive, that you want to be told what to do, that you want to give up that control to someone else?
