I have a second question for Authors. :)

What do you use your internet connection for?

How many of us use it instead of snail mail?

Does anyone use it for research, if so, what kind or do you still prefer the library?

What else do you use your net connection for?

Do you use it in connection with your job?

Have you increased your use of the net in the last 12 months?

Hey, give a girl a chance to brush her teeth and floss. :)

What do you use your internet connection for?

It's my library, my method of publishing some writing, my communication center (I prefer email and IM to snail mail and the phone), it's recreation, it's work.

How many of us use it instead of snail mail?

Snail mail is only for the bills and birthday cards with money in them.

Does anyone use it for research, if so, what kind or do you still prefer the library?

It's the primary tool I use to conduct research. I use it to narrow down what I need to know before hitting the library. It's far easier to cruise through a bunch of information on the 'Net than it is to look through a bunch of books to find what I need to learn. It's also handy because the library closes. I spend about three-quarters of my 'Net time in research. Thank gawd for cable.

What else do you use your net connection for?

Sometimes I do crossword puzzles.

Do you use it in connection with your job?

My current vocation is student, yes.
My current avocation is writing, yes.

Have you increased your use of the net in the last 12 months?

It's actually gone down because I have less time to devote to writing and the research it involves. Class. When I get out of college I hope that telecommuting and 'Netcommuting will be in my job description.

What do you use your internet connection for?

To communicate cheaply with my friends, to share my interests with others such as in Lit, research for work, finding out what's showing at the local cinema, and a bit of entertainment on the side.

How many of us use it instead of snail mail?

Actually I've been applying for jobs recently and I've had far more success through the internet than by snail mail.

Does anyone use it for research, if so, what kind or do you still prefer the library?

Haven't been to a library since University - the internet's good for the research I currently need.

What else do you use your net connection for?

Some years back, the superb humor columnist Dave Barry of the Miami Herald had his column syndicated in a newspaper over here in the UK. I loved it. But after just a few months, the newspaper pulled it. For a while I just had to buy his books and read those, but now this internet thingey's come along, I can read his column every week.

Do you use it in connection with your job?

The work I'm doing at the moment is on a movie mag and there's no better place than IMDB.

Have you increased your use of the net in the last 12 months?

Yes, by loads. Around Christmas I switched to a new ISP so I don't pay call charges any more, just flat rate. hurrah!

Everything except fryin' eggs!

I haven't sent a snail mail letter in at least 4 years. I even pay my bills electronically

I do some research on the internet. Some I do at the local mall.

What's a library? Oh yeah, one of them buildings where they have rows of computers so homeless people can get their email. I remember now.

What else do you use your net connection for?
I play games, look at dirty pictures, read nasty stories, publish nasty stories, read the news, read the comics, look up words in the online dictionaries, use the online thesaurus, manage my checkbook, pay my bills, do my taxes, renew my voter registration, participate in surveys, complain to my senator's, cuss out my representative, ... the list goes on but I won't.

Do you use it in connection with your job?
Yep!

Have you increased your use of the net in the last 12 months?
Up from the 18 hours a day I already spent on the internet? Nope not much.

I am a househusband.

As such I am able to go online when I damn well fell like it basically.

If the computer is on odds are I am online as well (why not I have unlimited time).

I use it to chat (assuming any friends are actualy on).
I use my computer as an alternate release for sexual energies (fortunately my wife and I don't suffer dogmatic hang ups).
I play wargames with my computer (wargames that's REAL wargames Like Steel Panthers, not silly shit like them first person shooters).
I like playing Civilization type games as well.
It's my stereo where i play my music.
I play unreleased in North America anime shows I get straight from the internet.

And I sure type a lot on my computer. By the way if you haven't found out yet, Win XP Office documents can't be read with systems that dont have XP Office eh.
