Does your brain improve songs?

I can't get this out of my head, and I didn't even like it when it was popular: a Hall & Oates song called, I think, "Sara Smile." Didn't like it, haven't heard it in years, it's been haunting me for two days now, and I'm beginning to like it.

Is it possible that my internal cover of the song is better than the original? And why does it make me crave Captain Crunch cereal?

Please advise.

It's the lack of pills that's not working. How's your new little buddy, Tripod?

LOL

You know that since no one else knows what we're talking about there will be some very lewd comments to follow.

:D

He's a little better, but not healing fast enough for my tastes. :( I'm calling three places tomorrow. I can't take it any more. But he is getting chubby and not looking so sickly any more, so that's a good thing.

Is your Google still busted? Brit delivery of those pills could take forever...or was it Australian? I bet I could Google, order, pay and have them shipped before you figure out what your favorite search engine's problem is, ya know?

I'll just make do with a

Sher: Perspective. It's a new time and age, and most stuff you hear on radio these days sucks. So compared with that, H&O feels like the second soming of Christ.

It doesn't improve them, but it often won't stop playing them.

Count yourself lucky, er fortunate, that your brain's playing Hall and Oates. Mine's been playing Whitney Houston at me off and on for the past three days.

And I don't like it any better now than the first time it started.

Sometimes I think my brain hates me.

It's a good thing I can dream up an override, usually Elvis Costello.

"Oh I used to be disgusted,
now I try to be amused.
But since their wings have got busted,
All the angels wanna wear my red shoes."

Much better.

Whenever a song I really don't like gets stuck in my head, I just drown it in Hendrix until it goes away. Works like a charm.

LOVE that song!
It's growing on you because it, and they, are good!
Good is good, whether we recognize it right away or not.
Like the Beatles. Didn't like them when they came out, but now can appreciate every song they have ever done.

Interestingly, if I remember right, "Sara, Smile"was sung by John Oates.
Darrel Hall sings about 95% of all their songs but their best one was by the "Non-singer" of the group.

My method is to wash it out with some mind numbing hard techno... you know the type where it's just a big rush of stomping kicks?

Heh, Have you heard Darryl Halls solo album? I've heard dogs in agony that sounded less depressing.

I'm not so sure John Oates WAS the non-singer.

Really!
Mr. Oates, are you listening?
Sing more!

Whoah, I feel good, I knew that I wouldn’t have
I feel good, I knew that I wouldn’t have
So good, so good, I got you

Whoah, I feel nice like sugar and spice
I feel nice like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you

When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can do no wrong
And when I hold you in my arms
My love won’t do you no harm

And I feel nice like sugar and spice
I feel nice like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, I got you

When I hold you in my arms
I know that I can’t do no wrong
And when I hold you in my arms
My love can’t do me no harm

And I feel nice like sugar and spice
I feel nice like sugar and spice
So nice, so nice, well I got you

Whoah, I feel good, I knew that I wouldn’t have
I feel good, I knew that I would
So good, so good ‘cause I got you
So good, so good ‘cause I got you
So good, so good ‘cause I got you

And what do you use to get Jimi Hendrix out of your head?
