As a Jew I’m particularly sensitive to the arbitrary nature of “whiteness”.

I’m pushed into or out of the community depending on what flavor of bigot I’m talking to—to an antizionist, I’m a white colonizer. To an antisemite, I’m a foreign invader.

I try to use my conditional whiteness for good. I know I benefit from looking white. This is why Jews have historically championed civil rights. We know we’re only granted rights as a fluke and they can evaporate overnight.

The world would be a better place if people abandoned their “white” identity and embraced the actual culture of their ancestors—Irish, Polish, Italian, Dutch, Lithuanian. There are ways to be proud of where you come from without being a toxic bigot.

In the 19th Century Arthur de Gobineau wrote "An Essay on the Inequality of the Human Races." He was a French aristocrat, trying to demonstrate the superiority of the nobility to the peasantry by attributing more German blood to the former.

Essentially. Now I'm going to have to look up what exactly a nut is. Anyway they about as closely related as say house cats and tigers. And while that's a lot, and without boring you with science Big Cats (Lions, tigers, Leopard, Jaguars), Cheetahs, and Small cats (Bobcats, Cougars/Mountain Lions, and house cats) are three distinct but grand scheme of things closely related things under the same family.
