All these US politicians who bend over for Poroshenko and Ukraine must be afraid of something. Now, even Trump has flip flopped and is supporting Ukraine.

WTF? Ukraine has no resources, no real strategic value, its economy is in shambles and getting worse, and its run by a bunch of ultra-nationalist neo-fascist nutjobs who came to power by overthrowing an elected government.

It defies any logic or reason why ALL our politicians, now even Trump, just bend over for some half-assed, disfunctional banana republic in the backwaters of eastern europe.

Ukraine must have something on all of them, and is blackmailing them. Otherwise it just doesn't make any sense.

WTF? Ukraine has no resources,

No resources? There's a reason Hitler wanted to make sure he captured that region. It's called a bread basket, coal and of course it was Ukraine which made the engines for Russian military equipment, something Russia can't replace.

no real strategic value,

Ukraine also has a warm water port which is why Russia stole Crimea.

its economy is in shambles

Because of Russia's puppet Yanukovych. He bled the country die being a lapdog to Putin and when he fled, after ordering the murder of protestors by his Berkut security forces, he took millions with him.

The Ukrainian economy is doing far better than Russia's. Ukraine is working on modernizing its industry, working with the West to modernize its capital system and many places, especially in Kyiv, are seeing a surge in new, privately owned businesses.

Unlike in Russia which may run out of money this year.

and its run by a bunch of ultra-nationalist neo-fascist nutjobs who came to power by overthrowing an elected government.

Seriously Vlad, give it up. The people of Ukraine were tired of living under the boot heel of Russia. They were the ones who voted to have closer ties to the West. It was the puppet Yanukovych, after being bribed by Putin, who defied the will of the people.

The people of Ukraine then set out free and open elections which Russia tried to thwart by blocking polling stations, burning ballots and threatening, even beating people, who tried to vote in Eastern Ukraine. They recorded themselves doing all of the above and even bragged about it.

To this day the terrorists in East Ukraine, supported by Russia, will not let anyone who supports the internationally recognized government of Ukraine from running in "elections".

Tell us again who the ultra-nationalist, neo-fascist thugs are.

P.S. If anything, the people of Ukraine were following in the grand footsteps of the U.S. when, as colonies, we threw off the shackles of a tyrant to set out on a better life. The same cannot be said for Russia who has seen 100 years of dictators and oligarchs bleed their country dry and enrich only themselves.

It defies any logic or reason why ALL our politicians,

You mean U.S. politicians. You're just a Russian troll.

Otherwise it just doesn't make any sense.

Which would you rather have? A friendship with a country who wants to work with you, who has free and open, democratic elections, who isn't attacking and invading its neighbors and stealing their land or supporting terrorist operations in that country, or a country who prohibits independent news organizations from operating in the country, who prohibits mothers of its dead soldiers from talking about the deaths of their sons in a foreign country, who denies its troops are attacking and invading its neighbors despite the daily, freshly dug graves of its soldiers, who supports a dictatorial regime by deliberately bombing hospitals and civilians waiting in bread lines and who steals the property of business owners for the enrichment of the oligarchs?

This is a pretty old theory (2014 article), so I wander if it still holds true:

Ukraine crisis is about Great Power oil, gas pipeline rivalry
Resource scarcity, competition to dominate Eurasian energy corridors, are behind Russian militarism and US interference

https://www.theguardian.com/environ...e-crisis-great-power-oil-gas-rivals-pipelines

"A US State Department-sponsored report notes that "Ukraine's strategic location between the main energy producers (Russia and the Caspian Sea area) and consumers in the Eurasian region, its large transit network, and its available underground gas storage capacities", make the country "a potentially crucial player in European energy transit" - a position that will "grow as Western European demands for Russian and Caspian gas and oil continue to increase."

.

Well said.

No super-power (be it the US, NATO or Russia) is driven by altruism or a sense of justice.

Only by geopolitical or ecoomic interests.
