This link goes to the separation of a lesbian couple who were married in Massachusetts' first formally recognized gay marriage. I believe the link is on other news sites as well.

Is this story newsworthy in any way? Will the separation have any effect on gay marriage?

People separate all the time. Even people who (gasp!) really wanted to get married in the first place. I suppose some people would argue that this shows how gay people really shouldn't get married since they don't have any family values. It wouldn't surprise me if those advocating that are straight folks currently in their third marriage.
