I am writing a story that involves an older man (somewhere between 60 and 80 not sure yet).

(Checking)

Not yet, but I've got ten years before I reach the bottom level of your sample.

thank-you

I am going to assume it does. Thanks for your responses! I would find out for myself but:

A: it would involve going to a swimming pool locker room and checking out old cocks (not a favourite past time)

or,

B: waiting to see on myself (but would probably forget the story by then)

Lol! Hey, some people are into lurking at swimming pools. Not that I know, I'm just sayin...

not on the mens side ;)

I've heard that it goes gray and then falls out completely as you get really old, that is if you are a guy. You know, male pattern baldness and all. :p

apparently you've never been to the pool in my city. :p

nope, but should I? If it's a co-ed change room with you in it I'm there

Hair does not go gray. Individual hairs lose pigment and lose color. The total affect is that of greying, but it is a loss of pigmentation in individual hairs.

The appearance of gray will almost always start in the scalp, specifically at the temples. The apparent graying will then tend to spread up the sides of the scalp.

Once graying has started in the scalp, it then tends to spread at a slow rate to facial hair then chest hair. Armpit hair and/or pubic hair may or may not gray. However, pubic hair will generally be the last to gray.

The graying affect is most noticeable in black haired individuals and generally least noticeable in blond people.

It would not be unreasonable to have a gray haired 60 year old man with black pubic hair. In such a case, the chest hair would probably not be all gray, but beginning to gray.

In case you are wondering I took a very long, very boring train trip with an expert in men's hair coloring. He knew basically nothing else. As a result, I now know a great deal more about men's hair coloring than I ever wanted to know.

So since mine has turned bright purple with little acid green polka dots I should probably go get some medical help? :(

Poor baby.

So glad you turned that trip into something the rest of us could use.

You poor, poor man. I appreciate your sacrifice for the betterment of mine and others curiousity, your selflessness is boundless.

May someday you ride with a two ladies who wish you to determine which one has implanted breasts!

We don't like to say grey - we say silver, it's more distinquished. It also 'thins'.

Since I went grey in my twenties (forty years ago) I ought to be able to answer this. Unfortunately it is so many years since I saw my pubes (because of the intervening beer-gut) that I can't remember.

Just checked.

Yep. Grey. Just like the hairs on my chest, my head, my chin and the palms of my hands (Oops did I say that? Must start taking my meds again).

I'm 43 and have 50% greyness down south - how sad is that?

My life is full of such sadnesses.

How is this for tragic? - As a teenager I was spectacularly devoid of hair (underarm, pubic etc). I was quite embarrassed by this - equating hair with manliness. As it turned out - i just wasn't a hairy guy - and the hair that I had at 14 was my complete alotment. Then, my pubes started going grey before I came to terms with how few I had! Old before I had even been young!

Aching with perverse cruelty of life...

ps Sad, but better than getting some schrapnel in my earhole in a war.

Hey, I never knew the hair on my head was going to turn grey, but it did, so I take care of that. But, at least I'm not losing it on my head at the same rate of the pubic area. Think about that one!
