have noticed since the revelations of the "multiple personalities" on the board things have gotten nastier in a hurry.

In the last several days:
I have been told what a bastard I am for being an American.

A nice lady who was attempting to help was so vilified by one particular individual that she has shut herself off and will not give advice to anyone, about anything.

And Several people obviously faking, just for the attention.

Is it just me or does the action of a very few spoil it for the rest?
I originally came here for help with my relationships, and in return give a little advice and have some healthy discussions ABOUT RELATIONSHIPS!!!

Politics really has no place here, if you want to vilify Americans, go to www.cnn.com and use their bulletin boards. If you need to have multiple personalities, there are thousands of boards out there, one for each of the voices in your head.

many of us come here for the "soft" issues, love, relationships and sexuality. We try to forget the "hard" issues politics, war, etc. some people cannot leave their hard issues at the door. Some cannot resist stirring things up, just because. Those people are not worth the time and energy to deal with. A while back someone instructed me how to use the "twit" or ignore function on the board. we should use it and say to them:

"we do not hear your words, they are unimportant"

I think that when someone you care about or like enough is attacked you feel the desire to reach o ut and smack the offending person which in result sets off a chain reaction from all those other people who care about the offender or the victim!

a few things;

1) You've been here a month or less. How the hell do you know what's nasty and what's not? This place is currently calm and placid compared to some past periods. If it's too nasty for you now, don't worry, it'll get worse.

2) The people responsible for the idiocy in the two threads you mentioned are...surprise...Idiots! ppman's whole reason for existence is to try and make his crappy little island look like it still matters by trying to run down america. Get used to it, it looks like he's here for good. If you just ignore him he becomes like that mosquito that won't go away...bothersome but essentially harmless. The other dude, LordKronos, I'm not as familiar with, but he's a fucking idiot, that's for sure. Don't let them get to you.

3) As for politics not belonging here, what the fuck are you talking about? This is a general board...that means all topics are welcome. There are no "hard topics" or "soft topics". If politics and hard topics, and arguing, and "meanness" really upset you, I suggest you check out the playground.

I think I have a pretty good idea of nasty and nice, just on the basis of being an adult.

I'm trying not to let them get to me but it is trashing the entire mood of the board, and as a result bringing other people down.

Meanness doesn't upset me, not being polite upsets me. I'm as guilty of being rude to those that deserve it as the next guy. If people cannot discuss matters without devolving into personal attacks and baises, why should I listen.

Freedom of speech also means freedom to ignore the speaker.

You don't even know what "the mood of the board" is supposed to be. The mood of the board is supposed to be whatever it happens to be on any certain day. Some days it's all nice and fluffy, and other days it's like pit viper soup. Lately it's been rather tame, actually. Whatever it is, you just have to roll with it. You can't change it by making threads telling people how to act.

Problem Child got kicked out of Jedi order because he got jiggy on his sisters ass, before Yoda got a chance to tell him that it was a no no. Really though, it was a total injustice. He didn't know! And beside, he has a good heart. It is a small, green, shriveld up heart, but has a bit of blood in it and it still quivers now and again. It reminds him to smile every now and then, and to save bumdogs if he can.


I've been appealing his bunking and it is getting me no where, but I keep trying.
