Does Literotica Chat Really Exist?

I'm sorry to intrude into the writer's forum, but I figured if anyone would know it would be you folks.

Over the few years that I have been a member of Literotica, I've tried four or five times to get onto the Literotica chat room without success. Registered with chat room screen name, pass, email---the works.

I get as far as a screen calling itself "Initialization," then I'm treated to a small psychedelic effect of Playschool triplets changing from blue to green. And then that's it. There it stays.

Is there really a Lit Chat, or is it just an attempt to hypnotize visitors for some inscrutable purpose?

Could someone please let me down easy if it isn't real after all?

Hi,
No that feature was never enabled. If you want to chat go place an ad on the personals there are a ton of people who will IM with you over there.

While I feel pretty silly for trying to get onto a non existent chat room, at least I know now that it wasn't me...or anything I said.


Thanks for the tip about the personals. After all that, it isn't that I have a deep seated need to chat. I was just curious thinking that authors might go there after their stories appeared.

Oh well. Maybe someday.

Hmmm. Well, I'd never heard of literotica chat, but when I googled it after reading your first post, I came up with a bunch of threads where people talked about it working, like here and here.

I can't really help beyond that, but it appears that it has worked in the past.

There is a "erotic chat" tab on one of the pages, it does not nor has it ever worked. Not that I have repeatedly tried but I heard other people here say it was never enabled.

More dead links... Methinks it's time for Manu to take a break from programming new stuff and go through the website cleaning up all the dead links first

Yes Gimlet, there is a Lit Chat...

I would suggest the F5 key when you get to the screen where it just sits, some times (depending on the time of day) it may take quite a few times to get in. The F5 key is like a refresh, I don't know why it works but it does.

In general, they are a very nice bunch of folks that frequent there, a whole lot of laughs to be sure.

It did work a couple of times for me back in 2005. But after having to reset my name and password for it, I gave up.

It did work, even after they changed the application(?) from the previous version to this one, though I haven't tried it in years. It should still 'work' and believe it or not, it is actually quite well moderated, or it was.

Maybe you just need to update your software?
