Or is it all the damn cigarettes you smoke trying to keep your brain from exploding???

I'm about to give up... trying to decide between a 1099-DIV... a 1099-B... whether to deduct the mortgage as a business expense... how much my truck weighs... do I deduct 'tools' in a lump sum, or do i have to enter the table saw... the band saw... the uni saw... the compressor... as separate items??? And I know I can deduct my horse expenses... but are they 'farm related'???

Someone pour me a drink!

Get an accountant. That's what I did, no more stress :)

Oh, we have an accountant... I just wanted to see if I could do them. Stupid fuckin idea!

Thanks for the drink... i plan to consume many more. :D

Your thread title would make a kick-ass bumper sticker or t-shirt.

I want one now. Or, heck, just a pin-button to wear on my jacket at work. I know it would be appreciated by the American public at large.

I just took the death test... I'm going to die of cancer...

I smell a class action lawsuit against the IRS for not putting surgeon general's warnings on tax forms!

Are you trying to do them manually, or are you using TurboTax (or other tax software)?

:D There should be one, shouldn't there???

I damn near have a coronary every year when I see how much we owe. :(

Oh taxes are a bitch aren't they??? :( I do mine every year myself...made a mistake one year and how to pay it back the next...won't make that one no more!!!

I also help my parents do their's. They own their own business. Now those are a bitch!!! If you have an accountant...don't do them yourself...you're only asking for an early death ;)

:D Taxes keep accountants employed.

I do my own. But I wouldn't do them for a living, that would drive me crazy.

Good to see that others have the same problems.
Just an example:

1 child from 1. wife going to school under 18 yrs
1 child from 1. wife going to school over 18 yrs
1 child from 1. wife working with less income
1 child from 2. wife 1. marriage going to school
1 child from me and my 2. wife

Questions??

I'm using Turbo Tax... did a friend's taxes, and it went really smoothly, so I thought "How hard can it be?" lol

Only, she's single and has one child. No big deal.

I'm married, have two kids, we own 2 businesses, my husband has a trust fund, my oldest daughter has investments in her name, our mortgage was taken out largely so that we could fund one of the businesses, and I know I can deduct part of that interest for the business... but I don't know how much... I know I can deduct feed, stud fees and vet bills for the horses, but I don't know if I need to fill out a farm (schedule J?) form... ARRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!

I think I'll be ok if I just don't look at them today, and go at 'em tomorrow when it's quiet in the house. If not, Jackson Hewitt can have my $250 with no complaints.
