Does cod size matter?

Cod is an old English slang word for the penis. So we women are not the only fishy ones!

Rigorous quotas set by the Commission.

New quotas have been put forward by European Commission, because some species, like cod, have reached a perilous state. All 15 EU countries will be affected by that decision. It was a black day for European men, said commissioner Franz Fischler, but insisted that tough action was essential. Europe has reached the point where drastic action has to be taken, otherwise some of the species may disappear totally. The catches of cod would be cut down by 60 per cent if action is not taken. "Too many women are competing for the biggest cod," said Fischler.

They are experimenting in Norway and Scotland and trying to set up cod farms. Results have been encouraging, this approach has worked extremely well with salmon and could go a long way to increasing the supply of cod.
