Does anyone use Mail Merge?

Do I have to use MS Outlook (as PIM), if I want to mail merge a letter to multiple e-mail addresses?
If not, what do you guys use?

No. You can merge from anywhere. Any Outlook, an address book, a personal file.

I haven't used Mail Merge for years, but the basic function uses a "comma delimited text file" as the interface between the name and address database and word processer. You can create a "comma delimited text file" with virtually every database, spreadsheet, or address book program I've ever used.

Newer MSWord versions may be able to directly accept other MSOffice file formats bu I'd be very surprised if the basic model has been abandoned.

(Note a "comma delimited file" is a simple text file with commas between each data element -- e.g. FNAME, MI, LNAME, STADDR, APT-No, CITY, STATE, ZIP, PHONE <line/paragraph break> -- so that each bit of information appears in the same order on a single line.)
