I know I'd probably get more replies on the artists' board, but I'm asking you wankers first anyway.

I sketch, I paint, but I've never tried making art with new fangled technology. I've blackmailed an expensive gift from my guy, using plastic adhesive and snips, so I'm trying to choose one. Does anyone have any recommendations?

I have no idea what I'm looking for, but I want to try doodling with a stylus. I don't have a pc or laptop, so I'd prefer something that doesn't require one... But if it's necessary, I suppose I could pout for an extra.

If you are serious, an iPad Pro with the Apple Pencil and Procreate is your best bet.

One of my daughters does amazing stuff with a normal ipad - not sure what software she uses. Don't ask in the Apple shop - they mean well, but just try to up-sell without making a serious attempt to find out what you want to do.

I used to do art on the computer. Mine was never as god as my dad's. His was really good!

Not being an apple person, and fearing becoming part of The Human Centipad... what do people think about the Galaxy tab S7+?

It's top notch if you can afford it. Close to Ipad Pro quality - slightly less powerful, while still a beast, and matching in screen and sound quality, and comes with a pen. But I think it's even costlier than the ipad. It is here at least. Might vary.

If you go w Android, I'd recommend Autodesk Sketchbook or Photoshop Sketch for the app.

Thanks! :) I hadn't gotten as far as thinking about software, and really appreciate the suggestions.
