Does Anyone Live In Vegas? I'm doing research on a story and need help.

I am wanting to send my characters to a sex shop on the vegas strip for fun, but since I've only been there once myself I'm not sure one exists.

I'll check with my babydoll when she wakes up. She lived there for three years before we met up. I'm pretty sure there's not one on the strip, but she will probably know how far off that track you might need to wander to come across one.

Just my thoughts here...

You are writing a fictional story, correct? To my way of thinking, it doesn't matter if it exists in reality.

With what my husband has described to me about Vegas, the existence of a 'sex shop' wouldn't be stretching reality all that far.

BTW... what exactly do you have in mind when you say 'sex shop'?

Yes, I live in Vegas. There used to be a sex shop on Las Vegas Blvd north of the strip. I think it was called Showgirls Video.

Huckleman, I actually tried that first, but I couldn't narrow the field down enough. Everything in Vegas is "Adult". But Darkside just gave me a name, so maybe I can use that and narrow the search grid, so to speak.

Angelicminx, I know what you are saying since I actually gave that line to a film crew today, but call me quirky. When I write I like to be as factual about places as possible. It's everything else I fictionalize. Don't really know why that is...

I don't know of anything right on the strip, the price of real estate there would probably make the costs prohibitive...there are a lot of strip clubs, and adult super stores just off of the strip on Industrial and Western.

She says that whole section North of the strip is fertile ground to find the right place. If you can locate Showgirls in a search, you can probably find several more in the same vicinity. She bought her toys at stores off the strip, so she doesn't have an personal experience with them *laugh*

Odds are there will be websites for the shops so you can get a good set of details for each, and find the one that fits the bill perfectly.

If I get a chance, I'll dig around a bit for website references.

The city has cleared most of the "adult" businesses off of Las Vegas Blvd (the strip) over the past few years. The Del Mar motel, which featured multiple channels of porn movies, and rooms by the hour was shut down a year or two ago. Most of the "adult" oriented business are either just east, or just west of the strip now.
