Does anyone know how I can edit a story that is pending? I submitted a chapter 2 to one of my stories and after reading some feedback on the first chapter, I want to make a couple of changes on the pending one before it is approved. There used to be an option to edit the story while it is still pending but I don't see it now. Any suggestions out there?

Also, if I want to rewrite an original story, how do I go about resubmitting it when the first one was already approved?

To edit a story while it is pending you should be able to click on the 'pending' notice on your submissions page, then you can make any changes you need and save them, this will delay your submission as editing while pending puts your story to the back of the queue.

To resubmit an approved submission, simply do what you normally would only add 'edited' after the title, that should overwrite the old one

You should be able to click the Pending link to preview and edit your submission while it's still pending.

To edit, revise, or delete a story that has been accepted and posted, resubmit the story withthe same title and the word EDITED, REVISED, OR DELETE as appropriate. Add a comment inthe comment field to clarify or explain what you've done to the story or why you want it deleted.

Well that's what I thought too but there's NOT a pending link when I go to "View Submission". It has pending, of course, but there isn't a link.

ARG! Who is the submissions editor? Maybe I could just pm them ...

If you want to make changes in a story that has already posted you just resubmit the entire thing with EDITED after the title. I'd also put EDITED in the Notes section.

It sounds as if your Chapter 2 may post before you can get your changes added - you may have to take this route for both chapters, it seems.

I've just checked my submissions for my own stories. I have one pending also, but the 'pending' is in black, whereas I'm sure it used to be coloured blue. That was the link to the edit page if I recall correctly.
Perhaps a PM or email to Laurel is appropriate in your case.

Yes if the 'pending' link does not work it may be because your story has already been accepted but not posted yet, that happened to me with a poem and the poem appeared later that day.

Yeah, the 'pending' link should be in blue and not black. Lit is going a lil crazy it seems lol

The pending link for ALL of my stories have changed to black with no link, so it's not just ones that have been approved but not gone into the system quite yet. It's also where you have to preview it before you can submit it now, so I am guessing that is why they removed the link to view it after it's been submitted.

Maybe they were tired of getting complaints from newbs about their stories taking so long to post who didn't realize it was because they kept hitting the pending link and sending it to the end of the line.

Same for my pending story, no link. Since I only submitted it two days ago, I'm certain it has not been accepted yet.

I think they are tinkering at the Lit headquarters.The entire submissions page set up was changed at some point yesterday, and an "in progress" option was added. Today it's gone and now everything pending is in black and impossible to edit.

Okay, I talked to Laurel and there were some changes made for the improvement of the site, one of them being taking away that editing change and giving you the change to "preview"/edit before you submit. But she bounced my story back into my queue for me, giving me a chance to edit it again before it posted. So if you make a blunder like I did, just pm her and she'll bounce it for you.
