I am sympathetic to the Greek people, but angry with their politicians (for decades) who have lied, lied and lied again to Europe, to their creditors, and most of all to the Greek people.
The problem that the Euro zone faces with Greek governments is that no one trusts anything they say. They tell Europe's leaders one thing, and the Greek people something different. Not just Europe's leaders, but the people of other countries in the Eurozone, are getting annoyed with the Greek government.
The Greeks have been poorly served by their governments for most of my long lifetime but only now is the shit really hitting the fan.
From a distance I can't see any Greek politicians who could run a piss-up in a brewery, let alone a national economy.
And what's in it for you? You seem so happy about it. Are you Turkish?Starve, maybe Turkey will take you over.
He's a certified delusional trollAnd what's in it for you? You seem so happy about it. Are you Turkish?
Someone who talks sense, finally.
But it's not only the Greek govt.; a lot of politicians from Eu (particularly S Eu) are like that - incompetent and bought by the big bankers and the IMF mafia. It's just that the Greek govt. pulled some maneuvers that made them more visible.

Yeah, they aren't good at hiding their true identities, eh?
My understanding is (from my dad's "politics") that IMF have a sneaky way of dealing with countries who are struggling financially.
- They offer a loan, and since they are the only available lender, they also impose all these self-defeating conditions.
For example- we will give you money If you put the xx factories out of business and other 'austerity measures.
- They say that they're only putting these conditions because they want to ensure that they get their money back. In reality, they are invested in putting the xxfactory out of business, since it competes with their own factries and interests.
- And of course, the corrupt politicians of the strughling country accept those bankrupting conditions - either because they get a small chunk of the pie, or because they want to look good for yhrir temporary mandate.
((Please, Oggbashan, help me with this argument - my economics are v.v. shaky I'm better with theory- the ideological stuff))
Then don't borrow the money, shit for brains.
40 years ago a small business admin speaker advised all of us to borrow money from the mafia rather than banks because the mafia hurts you really bad one time if you cant pay the money back.
I agree with you, thanks for making this point. My understanding is (from my dad's "politics") that IMF have a sneaky way of dealing with countries who are struggling financially.

But WE did not borrow the money. The corrupt politicians did. Can you honestly tell me that a 10 year old Greek who is going to be homeless and hungry if both parents lose their job and one commits suicide must suffer because he borrowed the money? He was not even born then. This is insane!
