You know, the pet health insurance?

If so, do you use it? Do you like it? Has it helped? Not done anything? How much do you pay? What kind of coverage?

Anything would be helpful.

My roommate consider it, but it was way to expensive. He couldn't remember what the exact price was, but it was out of the question.

I looked into insuring two of my horses. I think I'd pay about $400 per year to insure each for a little over $9000 in the event of death. The policy covers medical stuff too, with the exception of vaccinations.

I checked into insurance on the dogs, but unless they're worth a lot of cash, or prone to specific health problems, it's pretty expensive. Some companies won't insure certain breeds because of the health issues they're known for.

Try http://www.petshealthplan.com/ I got this site from a board member who has cats insured with them. I've been considering signing up my three mutts, just haven't done it yet.

I do know that most pet health insurance won't pay for ailments that turn out to be genetic, such as hip dysplasia and epilepsy.

we have it its pretty cheap for our dog

but the only problem is they wont cover existing problems ... we got it because he has lip trouble and might need surgery but of course if he does need surgery it wont cover that

i think if you are going to get it its best to get it when everything is ok with the pet
