Now wait, I was on the registering site a few days ago, and it stated that it is perfectly all right for anyone over the age of 13 to visit this site, as long as they have parent's permission. I know it's more than likely not, in fact way more than likely then not that he never had a parent actually write Laurel and say it was ok, but he still could be at this site legally.

You must be 13 years of age to use a bulletin board only - if, however, that board is on an adult site the user has to be 18 or 21 depending on state law.

The question regarding being 13 years or older is required by law.. If a parent were to tell Laurel that it was 'okay' for their child to enter this site and that they were going to let them do so that wouldn't make a difference.

Showing a minor pornography is illegal, even if you're the parent, and if Laurel agreed than it she would become an accessory - it would be the equivalent of a porn shop owner letting a minor into her shop because he was with his father. In fact, while I'm not certain, if a parent informed Laurel that they were letting their child view pornography she might be legally obliged to inform the police that.

Hey, I never said it was legal for a child to view pornography. I just said that, technically, according to Laurel's own website restrictions, it is legal for a person under the legal age to sign up.
Why would Laurel even allow some loophole like that to even exist if, like you said, it's illegal by state law? Isn't she then breaking that same law if she has a waiver on the register site, saying it's perfectly all right for minors to come visit this site if they have their parents permisson?

But thats the thing, Its not Laurel's Restrictions. many sites use this same exact kind of board. The webmaster such as Laurel can ban, change icon use, set whether ot not number of posts are shown or not. any of that but the restrictions and terms to agree on when signin up with the board was made by the Discussion Board provider which cant be changed by Laurel, even though this is an adult site. You got to look at it techniqually and just with common sense Poohlive. Im not saying anything bad but statin the fact. Check out other sites. mainly E/N sites. that have discussion boards. ex: BAMF.com, Stileproject, TeamDawghouse, Brain Damage. They all use this same type of board. The terms are exactly the same.

Again, I am not stating that children should come on here and visit this site, I am only showing you what is already out there.
As for common sense, well being as it's right there in black and white, what other common sense do you need?
If this is truely an adult site, and it isn't accesable for everyone, wouldn't someone leave this out? To me this is something more than just a technicality to be brushed over because all the other sites have a standard thing. This site is an adult site, and should be treated as such, or we should back off people who aren't 18, and let them come on according to the policy of the "standard discussion board."

nobody under the age of 18/21 should ever be able to see the disclaimer of the bulletin board sign-up - since they never should be accessing the bulletin board in the first place.

Right on the first page of Literotica (and there is no possibility to sign up there!)it says: "NO MINORS ALLOWED". Only by violating/trespassing this very clear and obvious statement it is at all possible to access the BB.

To make a long message short: Imho the age is 18+, and no other disclaimer matters 'cause it should never have been accessed/seen in the first place if we are talking minors.
