Does Anyone Have Experience, Opinions or Reco's on the various services one might employ in the Self Publishing Process?

This would include anything from manuscript assessment to editing, book cover design, formatting, all the way to getting the book onto whatever platform(s). The good, the bad and the ugly...who to use, avoid...etc? FYI, the genre I do most of my not-work, not-erotica writing in is humor. Sometimes genre matters. And does anyone enjoy doing a manuscript assessment a.k.a. beta read? Compensated or barter reading?
