I do. I have a FB page and a blog where I announce new stuff, plus site profiles. It's not much, but it's what I have to work with.

I don't use any social media, but I do talk to people face to face and tell them what I write. For some reason or another, women find it interesting that a man writes lesbian porn. My buddies even promote me and tell other people what I write and that's opened a few doors for me.

I know several of my fans/readers are ones that were told about me and a few are ones that were told by them. I can only imagine that in an indirect way, some social media has been used to promote me, but not by myself.

I have to say, I use Facebook more to keep up with new movies, new releases from bands I like, coupons for some places I shop and things like that than keeping up with people. For my author FB page, I try to check in once every day or two to clear out notices and things like that but I don't post a ton.

I don't use FB or anything generally public to promote the things I make or do, but when I write an erotic story, I post it here. When I feel like being a total nerd, I go to a forum about Revolutionary Girl Utena. When I want to post videos I make, I put them on youtube and advertise them to the correct fandom that they're aimed at.

LOL Well, yeah, of course it is!!! I was speaking more along the lines of promoting the pen name or smut ID (and LE in the process too by default).

I spent the morning playing around on my Josh Pizzaboiatdoor FB page; and after I did some of the more risque things it is known for; I teasered the first couple of sentences for the new strokomance shorty....along with a very appropriate, hawt boiz in bed, picture to go with it.

Biggest problem with FB, is figuring out the ways to get around their damn live-link, blocking code.

I do also use Bebo; but only on a VERY limited basis anymore; since aoHell ditched them as THE official profile of the chat rooms. We will *NOT* discuss the types of "promotion" and "research" I use those for.

I have been published in the past in Readers Digest, American Heritage, and assorted & assundry business specific rags. I sure am NOT going to orgy-up that name (and its minor rep); with the smutty....but romantic....gay Hemingway one that is the far-fetched dream!

The pen name I will be using; if and when I ever go for real, $$$ generating, publication; already exists and has its own FB page also.

Just not very active at all, though....since there would be some seriously major changeover required of stuff here first....mainly a name change on every, already live, story.

Oh, and to answer your question, no, I don't promote my work, basically at all. I put it up on Lit, if people read and enjoy it, great, if not, whatever. I write it for fun and that's about it.
