Does anyone else miss A_J?

But he had opinions, he had passion, he had a farm in Kansas and usually went walkabout to the Land of Oz.

He was never selective in his abuse, nor shy in coming forward to say "I told you so you fucktards, but you never listened!"

He was a philosopher, a politician, an economist. He had been in the military, he kept a gun to shoot people 'dayed' with.

He was at his most brilliant when he was off the medication and at his most scathing when he was on it and the real world interrupted his manic thought processes.

Compared to the new lot of posters he was like champagne is to water. May the fire in his belly be never extinguished.

God I miss A_J...

You must have missed his unrelenting - and ineffective - badgering of DCL. For me, that trait overwhelmed any contribution he made to any other conversation. I always knew that he would return to his "mission" against DCL. If he would like to return as yet another user, and drop the campaign this time, I wouldn't mind seeing him around here. But not until then.

Though i really didn't like his incessant harassing of DCL, he never ever bothered me, personally, at all. I did admire his forward style and strongly stated opinions, even though i only read - *maybe* - 1/4 of what he posted because that was enough for me at any given time.

But, if we take a look at the pablum period the GB is in now, i can't help but think AJ would spice the place up. Oh and him and Marxist? That'd be good reading...

I don't mind people who have differing opinions but when they make personal attacks and just come here to badmouth, then it isn't fair.
A_jacks unfounded attacks on DCL and others was disgusting behavoiur, hence my bad to get involved. Trying to get A_jacks to see a point any other way than his own way was hopeless!

That describes many of the people here and in the real world, not just AJ.

I didn't like his badgering of DCL, but AJ had good points, too. When he talked about his adopted Chinese daughter he would be much softer, for example.

AJ had good and bad days, just like all of us.

AJ dismissed several of my ideas and posts as "stupid" without even explaining why he did not like them. When I asked him to comment on them he would either ignore me or copy and paste this huge articles that made little or no sense.

People that do stuff like that alwasy make me think about how they treat their kids. I mean if you kid comes up with an idea that is no good for some reason you don't just say it is stupid. You try to explain what is wrong with it as best you can on their level. If you tell a kid enough times that his ideas or stupid eventualy he/she will think they themselves are stupid.

Yes I am speaking from own childhood experience here.
