Does an audio count

Does an audio experience count as a story in the true sense of the word?

I assume that most of us write erotica to explore sexuality in some way and take satisfaction from being able to excite or arouse our readers?

But what about short circuiting the process? Is it the story telling or the affect our work has on people that is the most satisfying.

By accident I combined some work I had done a long time ago on suggestion with some story discussions with a collaborator and interesting things happened as a result. The outcome was what I call Directed Erotic Visualisation, in short orgasms induced by suggestion.

Where should such a work sit? Is it literature of some sort, or Oral story telling or is it just a toy substitute, a virtual vibrator? I am curious to know what others think.

Hello there, stranger!

It sounds to me like the difference, in the most basic sense, between "stroke' and erotica.

No matter what trappings you wrap it up into, for myself, there will be a trigger--- and honesty, some trigger words or thoughts are potent enough that I could dispense with the story that contains it or them...

But that wouldn't really satisfy the rest of me, you know? I am spoiled these days, and I demand a point of human connection with my orgasms. That's why my work focusses on interior monologues as much as on physical actions, when it's the physical that arouses me.
I think that a voice might suffice, I don't know for sure...

Does that help? Or even go in the direction you are thinking?

Thanks for commenting. I think I agree with you actually.

The scripting of an audio suggestion file should have some plot and cohesion that leads the listener to a conclusion but there is no conflict or character growth.

I think I am happy with the description of it being 'an entertainment'.

Some find it fun though!
