Does a Chimp Have the Same Rights as a Person? New York Court Will Decide This Week

Will they be able to vote at the age of majority? If so we've got a whole new immigrant class.

This is a subject that makes me uncomfortable. I don't know about apes but there was a time when we thought native americans and blacks were subhuman.

Lmaooo
How open-minded of you.

Talk about insulting without having a clue
:eek::eek:

That shot right over my head. Care to explain in depth?

How can you even make the analogy between native americans/blacks and chimpanzees?

The conquistadors used that analogy to justify that blacks and native americans were subhuman, just because they had a brownish skin and didn't have their level of civilization.
Which was highly offensive and was related to their racist mentality and colonialist intent.
Because deep inside there was no difference between one human being and another; they all had similar brains and potentials. It all came to environment and lack of opportunities.

And I get that -unlike BB- you had no racist intent when you made that analogy, and that you focused on their right to freedom as opposed to intellectual abilities, humanity and so on.

But given the history of such a comparison and the fact that you're making comparisons between a human being and a chimp-- it might give the wrong impression.

The other thing I was thinking about (not meant as a shot -unrelated to you- but your post brought this interesting thing to my mind):

Did you see the movie "The Hunger games"?
It's based on the philosophy of Agenda 21. Pushed to conspiratorial and fantasy dimensions, of course.

In the movie, animals and wildlife were seen as being almost equal to human beings and sacred and people were seen as a danger to them. People lived in crammed gated communities, they weren't allowed to go into the natural zones or to hunt, and if they killed a wild animal even if they were starving, they paid with their life.

Of course the movie is an exaggeration, but it's a good example of what could happen in a crazy world when one makes such analogies.
Use the "Need to prevent climate change" or "Prevent Overpopulation' or "Protect the Natural habitat and animals from Man's Destruction" agenda,
and you find an excuse for a totalitarian regime.

This is too far fetchef of course but it's an interesting exercise re thinking where inappropriate comparisons can carry us in a crazy world.
Just like libs. Use the inappropriate analogy between the unisex toilet movement with the fact that blacks weren't allowed to ride in buses and were considered beneath whites.

Thank you for understanding about me being not being racist. There was a time when science explains why indians and blacks were considered sub human. Science agreed on that. Now we know better and science agrees. I truly wonder if in the future they might feel the same way about apes.

Now that you phrased it differently, it should be much more clear.
Indeed.

They have the same rights as any other immigrant.

Give them consular IDs, turn them loose and let them walk the land without the fear that the po-po are profiling them. NO MORE TURNING THEM AWAY FROM THE VOTING BOOTH!!!

God I hope that they won't read your post as 'racism', because I didn't read it like that.

The thread topic would actually make for a great parody (a movie in the line of "Idiocracy")
about all the absurd PC requests of lib. SJW's.

Oh you know it's a goto serious charge, but I no longer care because people are waking up and realizing how mean and shallow the Left has become.

On a more serios note:

This case is funny, but in other cases the over the top PCnness has actually become dangerous. Now they're introducing in the school curiculum of 7 years olds a book about transgenders, with absolutely no consultation with paediatricians or mental health professionals:

https://www*****sitenews.com/news/uk...er-transitioni

"In a move that’s causing controversy, children as young as seven will be exposed to gender ideology in UK elementary schools later this month through a new book from an LGBT activist on “medical transitioning.”

The taxpayer-funded Can I Tell You About Gender Diversity? by CJ Atkinson, approved by the United Kingdom’s Department for Education, shows the use of hormone blockers through a fictional 12-year-old who is “transitioning” from female to male so she can stop the onset of puberty.

It advises teachers, parents and students against using language suggesting there are only two genders.
Gender and sexuality are described in the book with what the Daily Mail called “a bewildering array of alternative terms,” which include “cisgender”, “panromantic,” “intersex,” “genderqueer” and “xe.”

Can you imagine planting all sorts of ideas in imature impressionable minds?

Street English will be degraded and hip-hop will have a whole new meaning.

We have finally just about mainstreamed almost all mental illness...

Street English will be degraded and hip-hop will have a whole new meaning.
