Do you write every day?

To keep up your writing skills and the flow, do you write every day—something or anything, but specifically, a poem?

Just wondering :)

I don't write every day, but I do my best to read at every opportunity, stories, poetry, whatever. the internet is a great resource for that, as far as it goes.

I write in my livejournal intermittently, at best, and in my score of notebooks when one of them is handy and I'm inspired, but no, I don't write every day.

Poems generally sit in my head for one to four days, or so, fermenting as I get a feel for them and start adding and/or taking away phrases - an example of that is The Pit Dance, which I'd had rattling around in my head for quite some time before I ever tried to get in on paper.

I usually start stuck on a particular phrase and/or combination of words and, in trying to figure out what it means, come up with a comprehensible poem, after a couple days of playing it around in my noggin.....Or i'll just sit down and spit something out, molded around a particular idea. it can go either way, in m'head.

I have a Live Journal as well, but I try to write in it every couple of day (saves finding one scribble thought on scratch paper in a hundred). They are very useful tools—I've turned on a few Lit poets to LJ.

I do. I miss a day here and there, but not often. I promised myself about three years back that I would write every day (after a years' long hiatus). I also made it a point to read poetry every day (which I still do.) It's exercise for the muse, I tell you! After about three months of doing that I was amazed at the improvements I was seeing in my writing. That and being here around writers like Lauren, Eve, JUDO, and my beloved smithpeter (and all of you, really) have been a constant source of inspiration.

I think we might need dates, names and exact cirumstances.;)

I write pretty much every day, either poetry or prose. Writing time is scarce though, and often comes at odd moments.

I do! I do! Oh sorry :p my enthusiasm got me. It's difficult sometimes, but I try to finish something every day, a poem, a paragraph, a story... even just to write footnotes is something, right? I have a notepad txt file I write in. It's open in the corner whenever this thing is on.

It was a new year's resolution and I've managed to keep it, on all but the day I was too sick to sit and a couple when I was away.

p.s. I wanna read about the turning on thing, too. Just link us directly to your journal neo. We can go from there ;)

I'm bad. I may go weeks without writing. Then I have a big poetry binge. Are there poetry disorders?

Like poetic dyslexia? How would that work? Whatever you have, it's not a disability.

Nope. I only write when I have to. My reason for writing is more because I'm too cheap for psychiatric treatment than any other reason. :D (That's my excuse for why I suck at any kind of challenge, anyway ;))

Funny, my resolution was the same and for the most part, I've kept it up

;)

p.s. direct link to neo's journal...

I have so many part-poems. I visit them at least once a day, not necessarily to add stuff. Sometimes I'm inspired to start a new one but mostly I just buff.

I try write every day. But it might not be poetry. Could be novels, short stories, song lyrics, anagrams, stageplays, debate articles, poetry or music.

not every day

I don't write everyday, but I do drink beer everyday. When
when enough brain cells die I get the urge to write. I
write something send it in and then read it after it posts.
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.

I feel like I need to write everyday. But I'll go spurts where I don't.
