It's law here and you can get a ticket if you don't. Boomers don't. I always see them riding by with no helmet on. lol, those crazy old economy wreckers..

When one shares the road with cars and trucks full of dumbasses and drunks, one needs a helmet.

I have a barely legal flat black one i wear most of the time and a shoei full face for trips.

Always wear a helmet or you'll never get anywhere from all the deeply concerned citizens stopping you to tell you about why you should be wearing a helmet.

Yes bicycles. That's what i'm talking about. Funny how boomers made all these laws for us younger generations, but don't follow them themselves.

The "boomers" grew up when nobody wore (much less heard of) a bicycle helmet.

Having survived to old age, their empirical experience tells them there's no necessity for them.

If I'm on the road, yes. If I'm on a bike path, no.

I wear mine most of the time when I ride one of my bikes. Here, bike paths often end and you have to pop out onto the road and contend with the cars and trucks in order to get where you are going. My normal lunch circuit (18-ish miles ± 1 mile depending on circumstances) has me on the road with the cars for about 4 miles and a helmet is smart to wear in that situation.

I always wear a helmet when riding technical trails on my mountain bike or fat tire bike.

No. I'm no longer safe to ride a bicycle or motorcycle.

When I rode a motorcycle, I wore a helmet even before they became a legal requirement in the UK. Bicycle helmets weren't available then.

Yes to wearing a helmet on all terrains. I have had 2 collisions while cycling—once with a boulder while going down a dry creek bed that was part of a mountain trail and another with a cyclist on a paved city trail. Both sent me flying over the handle bars and landing on my head. I am so glad I always wear a helmet while cycling.

I sometimes think when boomers are out cycling with no helmet on, they're actually out trying to catch their own death.

The very best cyclists I know would never ride without a helmet. That's good enough for me. Also, slow speed crashes can be devastating.

If you have a helmet that you even notice on your head, you have a shitty helmet. Oh, and "bike paths" are, by far, the most dangerous place to ride. I avoid them always.
