I know you do.

I do, I have cried with frustration at how little I can do. Then as i prayed yesterday an idea hit me.

I'm going to do a 24 hour fast and get folks to sponser me then send the money to one of these aid organisations:

Friday 16th September

I encourage you to think of something that you can do to be sposered or to collect money -examples I can think of are...

Cake sale

Are you in a choir or a musical group? put on a show and send the proceeds.

A fast like me if you can go 24 hours without food, just drinks.

shave off all your hair

Can you run? Do a run or a bike ride or exerciseathon or something like that.

Carboot/jumble sale/yard sale. get rid of junk and send proceeds to help

Anything you can do to gain funds means you can help in someway.

I am going to post this on all the boards I visit as an idea, with the day I'm doing my fast on. I want to let folks know they can help and even if it will take time to organise an event, these people are going to take months upon months to recover and will need this aid for a long time to come. So anytime you can do something, anything to raise money it will be helpful.

I hope some of you find this inspirational!

I am willing to pull together a "special edition" of Coming Together ... consisting of the Rainy Day Story Challenge stories (oddly appropriate) ... with proceeds to benefit hurricane relief/recovery efforts.

(Zoot -- your tsunami story would be a nice addition, too.)

If everyone gets their edited stories to me promptly (and we get cover files from Lou), it could be ready by the end of the month.

I remember mine (of course), cloudy, Dran, Bel, mat, vella, lucky, cant, Alex, gauche ... but I know that's FAR from complete.

Thanks. We might need help pulling the stories from Lit and putting them in the proper format, given the need to turn this around quickly.
