We are already at war....

For the absent minded, we signed a CEASE FIRE, not a surrender. They still have not abided by the conditions of that cease fire. Therefore, we can exercise at any time, the option to resume combat operations. The weak willed want to change the argument around to a "Bash Bush" agenda, but any President could invoke the resumption of hostilities. They try to hide their hate for America, by appearing to be reasoned in their arguments, but they eventually reveal their facade when challenged.

However, I support the proposed attack (not to be classed as a war, yet). For those who wish to keep abreast of Saddam Hussain and his arsenal of biological weapons..you should read the English papers...try www.thesun.co.uk. I have noticed that we (we being the Brits) tend to be more open with the potential conflict.
He is certainly building up weapons for mass destruction and needs STOPPING and stopping now.

I'd support a multi-national task force going in and finishing the job they started during Desert Storm. Saddam has to go. He is one of the most dangerous men on the planet at the moment and even the slight risk of iraq having weapons of mass destruction has to be addressed and taken to its ultimate conclusion.

Remove the weapons, and remove the man with his finger hovering over the trigger. Zap the motherfucker.

The "war" should be limited to getting rid of Chemical Biological and Nuclear suspected sites. If we commit to ground troops, he will use any of the 3 he has, even on his own land. He did when he was at war with Iran, he did on the Kurds. I don't care if we get him. He's afraid of his own son. His time is coming, let Iraq take care of Iraq.... let the international community take care of the threats he projects to that region and abroad with weapons the rest of the world is trying to get rid of.

Siren, I know you made comments about the un-scientific nature of this poll, but you seem to be putting a bit of importance on it. This is a PORN board. While all the people on this board have very valid opinions, it has been noted many times in the past that the general population of Lit is both younger and more liberal than the population in general. Please be sure to use that in your calculation of the "margin of error" statement that seems to go along with all polls. (like it gives them SOME validity).

I already did this poll. I guess you didn't see it. Last time I checked, the vote was 29 to 25 against. Since people who have internet connections are, on the average, more affluent and thus more conservative than the population as a whole, it is reasonable to conclude that the population as a whole is more strongly against it. That means that those "scientific" polls which are widely publicized, which show a majority of Americans supporting war, are probably hooey.

The results of any poll, even a so-called "scientific" poll, can easily be manipulated for political purposes. Part of the "art of persuasion" is making people think that most people think a certain way.

Also, I did not vote, because the options don't permit it.

I believe that some kind of action against Sadam is necessary, but "war" isn't necessarily the only option. Also, I am firmly in favor of taking action to get rid of Sadam, but I want as much information as I can get.
