Do you miss your characters?

Yes, they are but what has that to do with the question?

Like LC said, you have to have a connection to the characters to truly bring them to life.

No one brings them to life, the idea is delusion. 3 year olds have make believe friends and LC.

I'm finding that some of my favourite characters get more parts to their story, even if each part is written as a stand alone. I also give them small walk-on roles in other stories. My written world circles in on itself.

lol I think I'm about to do the same thing. Ideas for a spin-off of the current series are already bouncing around in my head. There will definitely be some cameos involved. :)

Spoken like a true beginner author. If you haven't learned to bring your characters to life then you need to go back to square one and not pass Go or collect $200.

They mostly live on within me, even those I kill off.
Reading this sentence by itself is fine.
Reading it under your avatar is perfection. :D
Thank you, thank you. I always listen to my voices.

Some characters stay pretty much the same in spin-off tales. Some inhabit different universes than their other occurrences, shifting as needed in various stories. Some demand cameos here-and-there. The voices tell me when and where to materialize them. Sometimes they wait a few months before directing me onward. Just who is in control here?
