What I love about capitalism

Capitalism makes the individual responsible for his own actions and choices.

If I screw up I have no one to blame except myself.

If i do it right I have myself to congraulate and not the thought that someone else got me there.

Capitalism makes me, the individual the captian of his own destiny.

Capitalism rewards the individual.

Capitalism penalizes the individula.

Capitalism rewards self effort.

Capitalism penalizes the lazy.

I love capitalism.

I am not rich, I am not poor but what I am, I am by capitlism and my own fruits of my efforts.

Communism is GREAT in theory...too bad it doesn't work. Either your country is bankrupt in a few generations or you control the populace with an oppressive millitary regime, or both...

I'm not a big fan of capitalism because it leaves to much of a gap when it comes to what can happen to people whose lives go to shit.

I don't think most people who are rich in this country did anything special to deserve it.

I don't think most poor people are poor because they deserved it.

I think Capitalism places far too much emphasis on the dollar above anything else.

Deserves has nothing to do with it. People DESERVE the oppurtunity to succede. Capitalism provides the opportunity. What one does with that oppurtunity is his chioce. If you work hard and take risks and are successful you are rewarded. That is the way it should be. If you are unmotivated and unwilling to work hard you get what you deserve. Nothing.

Capitalism is a survival game. The strong get rewarded and the weak do not. This may seem fundementally unfair but it is still the best system we have come up with to date.

It's a bit fuzzy...

Capitalism as it exists in theory doesn't actually exist in America because, like any system, it isn't perfect. The system is full of checks and balances to correct the inequities. Things like labour unions, indigent health care, Social Security, Amtrak, school systems, welfare, and so on.

Capitalism does exist in all countries that have vibrant economies--even if they fancy themselves socialists. Socialism as it exists in theory, like capitalism, doesn't actually exist in countries that claim it as their system.

The fundamental truth is that all systems exist somewhere in the middle with a balance struck by the needs and wants of that society.

Communism is often confused with socialism but is, in fact, a system of government and not economy.
