A Malaysian grandmother had a frightening experience during a late-night visit to the bathroom when a python placed its jaws tightly around her foot, local media reported.
The incident, in Seberang Tuan Chik village in rural Terengganu state, occurred when the snake entered through a hole in the floor of the house, which is slightly raised above the ground in keeping with Malay tradition.

The python tried to drag Ngah Hitam, 72, down the hole, but it appears to have bit more than it could chew - the hole was too small to accommodate the grandmother.

The snake finally let go and disappeared. The grandmother was later taken to Terengganu hospital for treatment for the large bite on her foot.

A search is underway for a 15-foot-long python spotted in woods near Newark in Nottinghamshire.

The Burmese python was first seen more than a week ago in Stapleford Woods, which is near the Lincolnshire border, by a couple who were walking in the area.

A South African man managed to save himself in a novel way after being attacked by a python on his way home from work by biting it.
The man, Lucas Sibanda from Pretoria, said the snake came at him on a narrow path near his home and started to coil itself around him - apparently trying to suffocate and then swallow him.

"I couldn't believe my eyes when just in front of me it appeared from nowhere and started coming at me and coiling round me," Mr Sibanda told the Star newspaper.

The 57-year old said that he sank his teeth into the python's neck, at the same time kicking and punching it until it eventually let him go.
