Do you have a WAP phone or something else WAP?

Hi everyone!

We have been messing around with the idea a WAP-ish version of the site for quite a while. Well, we're finally testing out the idea with a rough WAP version online right now. It only has stories - no pics, no BB (boo!), etc.

My web-phone doesn't use WAP, it uses some other strange format like HDTM or HMDL or something (I can't remember) so I can't test it on my phone. So, I'm wondering if anyone out there with a WAP device could give it a quick spin and report all of the problems you have with it.

The problem that I had on a WAP emulator I tried, is that it only loaded part of the long stories, not the whole stories. If you could go to a story and see if it's loading the entire thing for you or just part, that would be great!

It won't work on a regular browser, just on a WAP one.

This is just a fun thing that Manu is messing with, so please be nice and give us any feedback for improving it and making it better and all that!

WAP, is a web browser for cell phones. Which mean you can access any web site, who is WAP compatible, from your cell phone, from anywhere you want. No hard cabels. Be advised though, that old Motorola you got will not work. You gotta have a Phone with WAP capabilities.

I think this will be the first porn site who'll be WAP compatible.
it's usually only banks and the such who'll uses WAP so far.
Though Yahoo seach engine also is WAP compatible.

Just some FYI... My phone has preset bookmarks for Yahoo, Amazon.com and shit like that. It also has AOL Instant Messenger loaded. I'm just finding this all out, cause I never bothered to mess with that part of it until Laurel posted this.

I still don't know if I have a WAP phone, lol. I just sent another email to Sprint trying to find out. There's nothing in the manual that mentions what format they use, and I can't find anything on their site, so I'm still in the dark. But here's what happened when I tried to access the URL you posted.

I got in, and I have no trouble accessing the various menus... Even got the author's list to load ok. But anytime I tried to access a category of stories (I even tried "how to" cause I know how small that is), or even if I tried to access a list of stories for an author, I got the following:

Error 1002: Digest too large. The amount of data exceeds the limit for your phone. There may be a problem with the site.

I was able to access an author I added a couple days ago named "afrodisiac". I got to see his profile and email addy, but when I tried to read his story I got the 1002 error again.

I dunno what that tells ya, lol. I dunno if it's a problem with the settings on my phone, or if my phone just doesn't have enough memory, or if the format is wrong, or what's going on. But that's my experience so far.

Nope, sorry I don't have it, and I have to admit that I don't plan on getting it at all. I want my regular web!! lol
