Just something that I've been wondering lately... car & bike companies give names to their stock so that you know what to call them-but do you give a name of your own to your 2- or 4-wheeled pride & joy (or piece of crap)?

As a start: My first car didn't deserve a name, but my second car (a white Daihatsu Charade) got the name "Ruth" (from Anne McCaffrey's The White Dragon)... because it was white, small and agile!

Now I have a CB250 motorcycle that I call "Nighthawk" (I was told that was the company name for it, but I've since found otherwise  ) - and when I replace it next week, I'll be calling the new one "Kestrel" (it's small, but still a raptor!)

Let's hear your name & tales!

I don't have a name for the city buses, except when they're running late on their schedule. LOL! :catroar:

In between, whether it's walking or biking....my legs and the rest of me that propel them. When I was younger....5-10 miles were nothing to negotiate.
Now after a couple miles, it's "feet, don't fail me now". ;)

Thanks for playing, Kitty-I tend to stay away from buses (because they don't come near me! :p )

Anyone else?

Come on... surely this thread isn't that boring...

I've never named my vehicles...However, I had a friend in highschool who drove a huge old car. We called it "The Blue Bomb".

I used to have a holden barina called "bobby" - it was my first and only brand new car. I was so proud of it - it was dark blue. Everyone I knew would call it bobby - and when they asked me about it they would say "how's bobby going, are you still happy with bobby" etc.

Haven't named anything since though

I've always named my cars.

My first car was a blue impala I named "Christine" (I claimed she picked her own name)

My next car was a kind Honda named Nina.

We now have an acid blue Saturn named Jake (after one of the Blues Brothers)

I've always felt a kinship with my vehicles and I always apologize to them if anybody curses them. I always pat the dashboard and say not to listen to them.

Everyone yells at me and tells me I can't name 2 vehicles the same....but I had a forest green Jeep Cherokee that I adored...and called her JeepJeep....alas..she went away....and I got a brand new grey Jeep Cherokee sport..while he's definitely a he, he's still JeepJeep.

Thank you all for playing!

Sounds cool - so long as it doesn't end up doing backflips down a church aisle (or getting chased by Illinois Nazis :p )
