Do You Find Anyone on Lit Intimidating?

Is there anyone on here you'd like to get to know better, but feel they are inaccessible?
I'm directing this to oldies as well as newbies.

Actually a few weeks ago I was on a voice conference with Ishy and emi and someone else joined us.


The other two laughed at me because I suddenly got all shy and didn't talk a lot. I figured they thought that I was an airhead beforehand and after my being all tonguetied and shy, it probably confirmed it. lol



I usually wait for people to approach me.. I'm not good at it privately.

You know, I don't really feel intimidated by anyone here...anymore that is. I have been here too long and observed too much. Nobody really feels intimidating. There's a couple of people who I would like to get to know more, but just haven't found that niche so to speak, to jump in and engage them. I've been rather fortunate with some of the real old members of Lit, to get to know them more behind the scenes than on the board. Anyone that wants to get to know me better, my PM box is always open.

Well I have to confess that I've always been bad for playing up that angle. Maybe it's a bit of a defense mechanism.. or just a way to lighten up the mood.


But that person intimidated me only because they are so intelligent and speaks so eloquently. That and I'm painfully shy.. I have to know someone a bit before I'll speak on voice with them.

There's people that I would love to talk to more, but like Summery said, I haven't found the perfect opportunity to jump in and get to know them.

I've felt intimidated a few times. But since I have made a couple of good friends here the need to reach out hasn't been so strong. My social circle is really as full as I want it to be. Sometimes I still get that "grrr, wish I wasn't so shy feeling" and there have been a few people who didn't really respond to me but I just move on from that. I've been here long enough that I feel pretty good about myself here. I am much better about talking to people about things they've posted on the Board than I used to be. I like to think that once in a while I'm a ray of unexpected sunshine in someone's dreary day.

Yes, I send unsolicited fluff to strangers. (hehehe....never take candy from a stranger....)

I do believe you are one of the least intimidating people on this board. You always have a well thought out response and you are warm and kind to most everyone. I'll always remember how you took pity on me as a sex crazed newbie and posted to my threads. You were a great encouragment.
