Do you ever write smut in inappropriate places?

As I may have mentioned, once or 45 times, the state has put me in a computer course, to improve my chances of finding a job. This course has two different genres of classes; one interesting, where you learn about different computer programs; and one boring, where they treat you like you're in kindergarten, and teach you how to write long letters about how good you are.

During the latter, boring classes, I pass time by writing sex stories for publication on Lit, and every now and then, I look up at the teachers, to make it look like I'm taking notes.

Do anyone else write their stories in inappropriate places? At work? In class? In the kitchen, right next to your kid, who's doing his/her English homework?

Got a notebook. Wrote parts of my one submitted story on it. However, I don't think I got to the smuttier parts while in public.

I write some of my stories while sitting in my book shop.

However, given the length of my stories and the percentage of sex in them, the chance of a customer seeing anything "smutty" is remote.

I've got a notebook and now that I think about it, I'm not sure that I've written anything in any place that one would consider appropriate. Well, maybe ONE place. Our house is wired for wireless internet access so I have been known to take the notebook to the WC.

Gee, Svenskala, what an odd question. I suppose it's inappropriate for anyone to use work time for anything but work, but that's neither here nor there re. writing erotica, reading the newspaper, sending personal e-mails or having cyber- or real-time sex at (on) one's desk.

Otherwise I don't see what the matter is. What difference does it make if I write smut while taking care of an infant, riding a bus, sitting in a classroom or even in church? (In high school I used to read Dostoevsky and Tolstoy during Mass because their books best matched the thickness of our missals.)

However, ever since I began writing I've done it all in bed.

I've written on a plane before. It inspired me to write From a Boeing 747. I've written on a bus, on a train. I've written in a motel room which two other people were sharing.

I think I'm an exhibitionist writer.

Sure, I have written things at work, and also at home when kids are close by doing home work or things. From time to time I have spare time at work, and since it is my company I should be able to do as I please. If kids are busy with homework it doesn't seem to be a problem as I do not read outloud what I am typing, and I am close by should they have any questions..............about homework.

I wrote "The Sex Express" at least the first chapter, when I was on a public train with nothing to do and my mind began a wandering. Hence the detail on describing the interior decor of the ratty carriage I was in .....

I do most of my writing at work, but since I'm the only staff person on night shift, it's not a problem.

I have, though, written naughty stuff:
During inservice training seminars on anxiety and depression
On vacations with my husband's family
At McD's or Chuck E. Cheese while my kid is in the playplace

I wrote a story on my arm once. I ended up taking a shower before transcribing and it turned out to be entirely inappropriate when it washed down the drain.

Whow, such a big turn out!

With "inappropriate", I mean places where there's a high risk that people will "catch you" writing smut, at a time when you don't want to admit that you've been writing smut instead of listening/paying attention/working/whatever...




This story is going to be one of my sweetest ones yet. I'm considering naming it "Personal Marketing" in honour of the dull class that inspired it.
