Do you ever get overwhelmed by it all?

What I'm talking about here is the sheer magnetude of readers who read our stories. My first story has already had over 27,000 veiws, and my second story is heading that way fast. I mean that's just phenominal to think that that many people have read my work in just a few days time over the internet. Is it just me, or does just blow you away the first time?

Yep. Know where you are coming from. I find it interesting that a "how to" piece I did has had many more readings than a fiction entry. (both submitted around the same date.) LOL..........guess that means I won't be making $$ as an author!

Wait 'til you've been here a while longer!

DS's post got me curious, so I did a quick tally. I have 21 pieces posted on Lit. One of them's a 'How-To' and one a (sad) attempt at mildly humorous poetry. The other 19, between them, have now amassed (as at 15:15 British Summer Time, August 4, 2003) the incredible total of 776783 views.

What I find even more incredible is that two versions of the same story amount to almost a third of that, 257929 views between them. Incest, so I suppose that explains that!

So no, it's not just the first time that blows you away! I remain gobsmacked at the sheer volume of traffic on the 'net.

I am sure that there are other writers here who have even more astronomical viewing figures. Now if only one in ten of them would give me feedback!

I've never really thought about that.

To put it into perspective for me My biggest 'hit rate' is 56,663. I'll assume that everyone of those hits is a repeat reader from other stories of mine, plus a couple of thousand.

I'll be ungenerous and take out around 16000 clickbacks.

I've been to a few matches at Elland Road, who's capacity is in excess of 40,000. In other words I can 'imagine' 40,000 people. They all read my story through to the end? They enjoyed it enough not to click back? I made that many people wet/hard or at the very least aroused?

Now that is quite astounding.

For the thread's sake: No, for myself alone I am not impressed by these numbers. I don't presume anyone's read my stuff to the end except for the number who voted or wrote to me.

On a more interesting note, the above quote caught my eye as I presumed the slash (lovely bit of punctuation) implies wet or hard. I'm happy to be of the persuasion who can be both: wet cunt, hard clit. Let's put penis envy to rest once and for all.

Proud Perdita :)

p.s. Boyz, don't talk to me about pre-cum; that's just dripping.

When I first posted a story here, I was astounded that it started getting hits almost immediately.

Now that first story is fast approaching the 1000 mark. And the other two are climbing at a steady rate.

For a person who never thought she was good at anything that concerned writing or even typing up stories, it's a shock. To actually have them up in the 4's and 5's really floored me.

Keep on typing,

It IS amazing, isn't it? Thousands and thousands of people who read your stories... and about 40 who vote for it...

Imagine answering truthfully, when someone asks you what you do: "I'm an author of erotic fiction. I have several hundred thousands of readers, and my stories are ranked very high in the sex story community."

Flicka-mou:

Your PM box is full again. Sheesh, you're too popular.

Actually, Svensflicka, I already have pulled that one on a few people. hehehe Would you believe my friends at the Library asked me what I do in my spare time?

Oh it was funny, the looks on their faces as I got to let the cat out of the bag. Oh I diddnt say it out loud where the rest of the library could hear it. But I did get them off to the side and told them what I did. Those that knew me went, "Very Cool!"

The others had to have it explained to them in delicate terms. hehehe

But when even my Mom wants to read more of my stories, I know it's good.

I wouldn't EVER let my mum read my stories!

She already thinks that I'm a pervert, I definitely wouldn't want her to read "The Visitors"!!!:(

Oh my God. I just counted. It comes to over 200,000 people. My largest hit rate is 64658. That's almost Twickenham's capacity.

Wow. Thanks Dirty Slut, never would have counted if you hadn't asked that.

Nearly a quarter of a million for the 28 stories.

What is even more amazing is over 2000 for my NON-EROTIC POETRY! I can't imagine reading my poetry to ten people at once, let alone 2000.

Parents reading your Stories

Apologies for misspelling your name a dozen times over.

When I first got the urge to write stories, I was halfway done with one and I figured, what the heck. I sent it to my Mom. I got a reply back within an hour begging for me to finish the story and write more. Goes to show you where my mom's brain is a good share of the time.

My mom and I think a lot alike. So it stands to reason that she is as much a fan of erotic romance as I am. Any endeavor I attempt, she's always there for me. Even if it's just writing and sending her stories.

And what's really fun is I've given my brother *with his permission* spoofy parts in my stories. He thinks it's funny.

I think the only person that really wouldnt understand or even attempt to understand, is my 91 year old mother in law who lives with us. I thank the gods that my computer is in my bedroom where she cant see it when I'm writing. Otherwise I'd be having to do some serious explaining.:D

I'm not phased by it as I don't really know if people actually read my stuff or just click and then back click.

I'd like to get more feedback though. I got decent feedback for my first story, then hardly anything for the letters stuff. I've just submitted a How To and hoping I'll get more feedback on that one later on.

I just told a very good friend I'm writing stuff for Lit. He said (and I quote); "I hope I'll get the opportunity to cum reading them." Now I'm getting nervous about showing them to him!

More votes and feedback would be great...

Yes, I reckon many would be a little freaked out by knowing what we are all up to...

And the number of people that view each story is amazing...
