This weekend Ive been treated to some fantastic sights in the street and on public transport. One girl was dressed up as a character I recognized from a rather obscure erotic video game.

I used to go full Dracula every Halloween and scare the crap out of people. But I havent done that for about 10 years. I miss it.

Not usually, but we have an invite to a Halloween party and I'm putting together a costume. Well, more like a prop.

I do if I’m going to a party that encourages it, or a wedding, which is fun. Less common these days when most people I know have kids, and the focus of the holiday shifts to them.

Sometimes I’ll throw on a hat or mask from an old costume to sit outside and distribute candy to the trick or treaters, but if that’s the whole plan I’m unlikely to put much effort into it.

My wife and I dress in costumes for Halloween parties each year. And if you ever get the chance, plan a visit to Key West, Florida during the last week of October for their annual "Fantasy Fest". That's an adults Halloween where rules of decorum are mostly suspended within the approximately ten-block cordoned Fantasy Zone. Alcoholic drinks in open container in the streets are allowed, and clothing can be at a VERY bare minimum. But you'll see all kinds of costumes and body-paintings. My wife and I have been there five years for the entire week each time. (Note that you should plan your costumes and dress ahead of time, because everything will cost far more on the island during that week.)

EDIT: In my story "The Maneater", the MFC relates an incident of how she dresses for the occasion to a counselor: "A few years ago, we were in Key West for Fantasy Fest, and I even dared to spend the evening pub-crawling Duval Street wearing only body paint and my four-inch cork heel sandals. (The competition there was fierce!) Fortunately, the police didn't notice that detail of NOTHING else. But it was the right picture at the right time."

That comes from our observations of just such women at Fantasy Fest! (My wife wore a LITTLE more than just sandals with her costume including pasties and panties.)

I haven't worn a costume in years. However, it is the one night a year that I can be almost guaranteed to talk my SO into indulging my body paint fetish. Ya know, the one where I lay there while he paints my back. I also really enjoy sitting with the kids and getting my face painted.

Well this year will be our first Halloween Party we are going to in a few years and my old Halloween costume from 5-6 years ago doesn't fit!!!!! So I have a new one, a chinese fox fairy - complete with mask and ears and fox tails (fake)

My wife and I bought an inflatable haunted house many years ago. When the weather is decent I set it up and then dress all in black except for skeletal gloves and a mask with lights. Then I sit in the dark of haunted house pretending to be mannequin until the kids reach for the candy bowl. Then I grab one of them by the wrist and wish them Happy Halloween in a spooky voice.

Or for the older girls I’ll ask them if they’d like some candy….

Every year my wife tells me if I get arrested she’s not bailing me out.

Not a costume, but thinking about scaring the kids, I took two pumpkins a few years ago and carved each as a giant eyeball. I put them on the porch on each side of the steps leading up. I had at least two kids I saw who were too afraid to come up on the porch. My SO has not let me carve pumpkins any more.

I've got a friend who throws a big themed Halloween party every year that's a lot of fun. She works at one of the parks here now and so she co-hosts it with several of her co-workers. So you get a pretty eclectic mix of people.

Last year it was "Circus of the Strange".
Made for some fun costume choices, and some of the attendees made some pretty incredible costumes.
A few years ago it was "Disney After Dark", that was fun with all the Disney Fanatics around here.

Well, since Halloween is my birthday, I kinda celebrate every year. XD I didn't dress up before, just went places, but since I've had my kids, I do a family theme most years. This year, we are all members of The Hollow Knight. We have a 3D printer so we made masks for all 4 of us. Son is Ghost, daughter is Hornet, dad is the Knight, and I'm going to be Grim as a drag queen. XD Personally, I don't know much about the game, just what my kids say, and I guess Grim is supposed to be a guy, but we don't follow those rules these days, ha!

Every year. This year I am going as the darkly erotic La LloronaI. t's a twist on day of the dead. The color palette will be black, silver/gray and (arterial) blood red. I just finished the head piece

I haven’t for 3 or 4 years, but my bf and I got invited to a party for this Friday which should be fun and I got an Alice in Wonderland costume. I wanted him to consider being the Mad hatter, but he decided on using a vampire cape that he used before and will add some things to go with it 🤦‍♀️

Depending on the weather I'll probably join the parade somewhere along the route. I'll definitely dress down(?) and hang out with friends in some bar or restaurant down there. Since the parade is so corporate and a business now they won't show the nudity on TV.
