Based on a few of the other threads about religion on this board lately, and an email exchange I've had, I wonder how many of you believe in miracles? And have any of you seen one up close and personal?

I believe in miracles because I've seen them. A relative of mine had cancer twice and both times, it disappeared. Without going into all the details about the tests that proved she really had had cancer and then that she didn't, let me summarize by saying the doctors had no explanation for where the cancer went. Other than that it was a miracle, both times, and that they'd seen similar things before.

So, do you believe in miracles? Why?

Yes, I believe in miracles there have been many times in my life when things have happened that there were no reasons of why but they happened and they couldn't be proven medicallly or anything of why except for divine intervention. When I was younger a friend of the family was diagnosed with Leukemia and not expected to live past 6 months and then for some unknown answer they did the blood tests and were going to start chemotherapy and found out that the Leukemia was in remission doctors couldn't understand why but she has never had a problem with it again and there is no explanation why. So yes I believe in miracles there are many different types I believe also.

I think you are my miracle. I hope you understand what I mean by that.

*hugs*

Sammyjo: Yes, I understand. Hope you are doing well and that you ask for, and get, your miracle.

Yes I believe in miracles. There is simply too many unexplainable things going on, to allow one not to :)
Big and small, they are all over the place and happens every day.
Personally the simple fact that I quite frankly should have been dead as an infant. Because of a very mean spirited cancer tumor I was born with.
No doctor gave me a chance of survival. And yet I'm still here :)
That's my own personal miracle.

I believe in miracles, too. One is surrounded by small miracles every day; the big ones are spectacular.

Since life itself is a crapshoot -- the odds are stacked against conception -- one's own existence is a miracle.

I, too, hope Sammyjo gets the exactly right miracle.

Yes I believe in miracles My oldest daughter was 3 when she got sick for over a month we couldn't find what was wrong with her just that something was. She had a bone marrow test and all sorts of other tests. Her liver and spleen were enlarged. But no one could find the problem. We prayed so hard. Then suddenly one day she just recovered! Now she is a healthy beautiful happy and responsible 16 year old that makes me proud to be her friend as well as her mom.
This is a very simple description of what we went thru but i know miracles happen.
And Sammyjo i am praying for you.

Yes

My miracle is finding all the friends I have found through this wonderful community. Angelique, Jade, Tiggs, MADDOG, *Eve*, and Nobody Special (to name a few :)) are some of the most excellent people I have ever known online or otherwise. Thank you from the bottom of my humble heart.

Always,

Jeff

Yes.

The reason I believe in miracles is the same reason I believe in my God.. I'd prefer not to post the details on the board because I'm entirely too frightened people are going to think I'm nuts, but if you're interested in hearing, E-mail me and I'll share.

Do I believe in miracles?

I have heard so many stories in the last few weeks of people beating cancer...it makes me think that I can do it too.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am doing a lot of research...I hope I can get my miracle.

DO I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES?....Yes I do!..I'm going to direct this post more towards Sammyjo, for a little insperational thought....I have been married to my wife for 24 years. In that time my wife has had cancer of the OVERIES & FLOWPEON TUBES.(I'm not a doctor,so I think my spelling is not to good on this subject. But I think you'll know what I mean.)..She had to have a complete HYSTERECTOMY at age 29.She came threw that really good....2 years ago,we found out that she had BREAST cancer. The news of that completely devastated her....But she made up her mind that she was going to fight this shit, whatever it took...They had to removed both breast. But in the meantime she did'nt give up...Last year we found a plastic surgeon that she really liked, and he did her reconstuctive surgery....Then last June,a year ago, they found a tumor in her leg. They took it out,and it turned out to be benine....Before they took it out,all the doctors where 99% sure it was cancer.... This wife of mine is a very strong willed lady, she never gave up for a minute....So I thought I'd just drop in this post to give you some MORAL SUPPORT....MIRACLES,YES THEY DO HAPPEN!!! LATER!!!

I don't know if you would call it a miracle but...

Ok, I'll try to keep the story short but here goes..

The Day My Grandfather Died

A little bit of history: My grandparents sponsored a couple of Vietnamese "boat people" into New Zealand. Over the years they had 5 different refugees live with them. They all learned English, got jobs and moved on, but my grandparents were always "Mum" and "Dad", and as such they were part of the vietnamese family. Anyway one of the Vietnamese women got cancer in her brain. It was an inoperable(sp) cancer as is virtually covered her brain. My grandfather had gangrene in his foot and had had half of it removed. The day in question was the last day he was to have bandages on his foot.. it had healed completely.. the gangrene was gone. That is beside the point. My grandparents were taking the vietnamese woman to the hospital to check her in for more tests. While Gran was busy doing all the paperwork and doing all the settling in stuff my Grandfather went to the cafeteria to have a cup of tea - right next to the accident and emergency. He finished his tea and was bored (hospitals take forever!) so he got up and wandered around a little in the A&E looking at all the people with injuries and stopping to chat to people. Anyway, just as he was walking past the reception he collapsed on the ground, dead. Being that he was already in A&E they had him on the table and trying to shock his heart and revive him in minutes. The doctor declared the time of death and they stopped working on him. My Grandfather was also a diabetic and had a Medic Alert braclet on (I don't know if you have them, but it has your allergies on it and your number so they know who you are) anyway, while they were trying to make him live they tried to find out why he was there in the first place as he didn't have an appointment. The doctors were standing around his dead body trying to figure it out when he "WOKE UP!" he said "I'm Waiting For My Wife" and promptly died again. of course they were shocked because he was already dead, but they tried to make him live again. They did not succeed. The didn't really know what he ment, but they thought that my Gran may have been in the hospital somewhere so they paged her on the intercom. In the post mortem they found that his heart had collapsed. There was no medical or scientific way that he could have been revived after his first collapse, let alone speak so clearly.

I think this is a miracle for a couple of reasons:
1) He was dead
2) He couldn't have died in a better place
3) HE WAS DEAD

This is a true story. Just ask my grandmother. (sorry, I tried to keep it short. Guess I failed)

I suppose it depends on your definition of a miracle.

I don't believe in them in the biblical sense because I'm not religious. But if you are simply referring to amazing things happening with no obvious explanation then yeah, I'd say I believe. That's what's so wonderful about life - its so unexpected.

On somewhat of a tangent. Do any of you believe that someone who does not believe in any God can be blasphemous? My view is that you have to believe in a god in order to be blasphemous towards it.
You wouldn't believe the mail I'm getting at the moment. What are these people doing on a porn site in the first place! That's what I want to know! Hilarious!

I do believe in miracles. I see them happen everyday. Flagg you are young and have yet to experience many things. Tell me you don't feel it is a miracle after your first child is born... There are others. SammyJo, as a friend of mine once told me you have to take your mind there and your body follows. She had breast cancer and despite all odds she is now ten years cancer free. I send you good thoughts.

Flagg I once badmouthed Sesame Street and was told I was a blasphemer. So it certainly takes far less than what you did.

I believe in miracles. There are a million little ones around us every day. Even had what I consider to be one happen to me once in a very bad place at a very bad time that I would rather not elaborate on.

I am not sure who or what I attribute them to at least not in a way that I can or feel comfortable with putting in words unfortunately.

I do think that they fall into that class of things that are fine to hope and pray for but unwise to seek out.

But they exist.

" I believe in miracles.
Shake it all.. you sexy lady. (You sexy, sexy..)
I believe in miracles!
Shake it all. You sexy thing!"

Whoa, okay, that's out of my system now.
No.
I don't.

I don't disbelieve them either if you have to split hairs but for me the 'day to day' miracles people talk about are simply interesting things that occasionally happen. I don't really believe in divine intervention of any sort.
