Have a little intelligence, please. Before you begin lambasting from hell to breakfast, do a little research.

First of all, witches aren't those ugly green women with warts, bad hair, pointy hats, brooms, and flying monkeys. That is fiction.

Witches are what some would prefer to be called Wiccan, and from what I understand there are several denominations of Wicca.

Wiccans follow a Goddess, rather than a God, and live by the rule, "Lest ye harm none, do as ye will." Right guys?

Anyway. GOD, the BIG GUY that YOU profess to follow STATES rather explicitly that YOU are not to judge. YOU do not decide who goes to heaven or who goes to hell. The ONLY critter that does is GOD, you know, the person you aren't?

God also stated that he gave everyone the freedom of choice, to choose him or not. Otherwise this conversation wouldn't be happening. God also stated that YOU not just one or two missionaries in Uruguay, but YOU personally, are to LOVE (oh no!) EVERYONE. That means you love them, sinner, heathen, athiest, witch, chevylover, no matter what unconditionally. If you can't do that then you have no right to call yourself a christian. All you have the right to call yourself is a selfcentered, self righteous, hypcritical, illiterate, pretentious, judgemental, jackass who wants to be God. Obviously, if you have so little love for all of your fellow man that you totally separate them from you, then you are not a christian.

I think this was meant as a personal attack against one of the members here, not against witches in general. This woman has posted on another thread about her husband being involved with a person here, one of the witches. So, I think the attack isn't so much against all of them, but against one in particular. And the comment about hell is her idea of what happens if her Christian husband meets in RL with a particular witch.

In any case, I think it is a personal issue and maybe should be handled off the board, if possible.

alright, i have to have my say here. i'm not claiming to be a religious freak or a witch. i've studied wiccan before and i've studied the bible before. what i do know that i learned from both is this: witches aren't to do harm to others(that's in casting spells got it), christians are suppose to love as Jesus loved. that's unconditionally.

If you have a problem with someone on the board, for whatever your reasons may be, why would you ever bring down someone's belief. As you have proven, just because someone claims to be something, doesn't necessarily mean they are what they preach. All you are preaching is bigotry of something that you must know nothing about.

The wiccan belief is that of mid-wifes.... that is where the true term witch comes from.... in the early 1500's... when mid-wifes where common place...

The reason they were called witches.. is because they used herbs and different forms of medicine for their parents to be. The term wiccan is a scotish word meaning Witch.

But also remember a true follower of the Wiccan belief system does not use spells or books... they use herbs and believe that the power of the universe comes from everywhere... different herbs, roots, trees..etc can do different things.

The question that people should be really asking is do believe in a man made story(God) or a female/male made belief system that as proven track record of herbs that will actually do something.

There are many books on the Wiccan belief, but few tell the true tales and way things are.. most of them show the modern version and what people fear. The term Witch as been used to discribe many different belief systems... one being Wicca.. and necro. etc... remember that when you read a book on Witchs and what they do... then you could be reading many different beliefs...

But... I don't know anything about it... Really, My grandmother... A wiccan.. my wife... wiccan, my mother... druid... belief systems...
