Do you and your partner ever wear costumes?

Bought the Shrek 2 DVD yesterday. It's a terrific movie, by the way, if you haven't had the chance to see it yet.

Anyway, as as we left the electronics dept of our friendly neighborhood Walmart we passed the Halloween Aisle. Big signs.

Everything 75% Off!

Cool.

My children and I played around among the costumes for awhile. We tried on and tried out a lovely assortment of niceties.

We wound up buying bits and pieces of things for future costume uses, feather boas and sunglasses, a couple of Halloween flashlights, four plush pumpkins, two extendable light sabers for dueling purposes (hubby and son  ) and then I came upon some - ahem - adult costumes.

First - two Roman god costumes ( I can turn one into a goddess costume) complete with off the shoulder white robe, laurel wreath, gold chains and black sash. I'm envisioning some sort of orgy for two? Where are the grapes?

I also found a white doctor coat with stethoscope and a set of emergency room attendant scrubs. They're cute and very cliche' but they bring to mind all types of naughty doctor/nurse situations.

And I found a Musketeer-type costume. With a little adjustment it will fit hubby's shoulders and the faux leather pants will nicely hug his butt. Couldn't find a Lady type dress but I did locate a harem girl outfit. Not too sure how those will go together but it will certainly be fun trying! (Pirate instead of Musketeer, perhaps?)

My children just stared at me as I piled them into the cart. "Mommy, what are these for? Halloween is over."

I just smiled. "I'm sure we'll find some uses for these. Maybe we'll even save them for next year."

Nope. They're gonna be outta their packages a helluva lot quicker than that.

If you need some pirate stuff...broad sword, curved sword, cat-o-nine-tails (Captain's Daughter), three sided hat... let me know.

Costumes? Those are costumes?

Doesn't every adult male keep a set of surgeon's scrubs and a stethoscope in his duffle bag, in case there's a medical emergency?

And weight-lifting gloves. Don't forget those.

I thought the Standard Pack was handcuffs, tiger striped jockey briefs, a pack of 20 glow-in-the-dark prophylactics in assorted colors, and a tee shirt with “I’m With Stupid” printed on it.

Dressing a part and playing out a fantasy situation is a lot of fun.

I had a lover in college who would leave a costume on my bed about once every couple weeks with a note saying where & when to meet him. It was great fun.

Hubby is not that imaginative, unfortunately.

Yes. See AV.

I can't do much more than Henry VIII because I look like Henry VIII wearing a costume as someone else.

No partner.
No costumes.
I spend my whole life pretending to be someone else.

I already have padding in the costume. It is being adapted to include a pouch for useful things such as beer cans (low-sugar of course). I can't change my height and width (or my large feet).

Yes.... We have so much fun doing dress up, or dress off as it usually turns out. FUN FUN FUN

sadly, I dont have a partner right now (Im between partners) but the last one I had liked cheerleader uniforms....but mostly we went with the naked horny girl cosutmes we usually wore....lol

My ex was a Britney Spears look-alike (when Brintey actually was cute). We actually met when she was doing a lip synch concert as britney and the schoolgirl outfit she wore during it was just... yeah. I'm so glad she kept that. I got to play devoted fan, bodyguard, backup dancer...

My closet is a cornucopia of costumes, sadly the only ones that get a workout nowadays are the renfaire ones, and that's only once a ywar

Oh, I'd LOVE to see that. Really love.

Working on it right now. We've got some great kicks from Halloween, and a recent visit to Cirque de Soleil netted us a pair of masks that are just stunners. (Don't ask about the price; we're pretending we don't know either.) We've got next Halloween planned out. Don't laugh; I'm going as ... a horse ;)
