I seem to remember that hitting my Forties was quite traumatic but I
took 50 in my stride.
In a way it is a shame it can take us so long to be comfortable in our skins??

Too long we are 'infected' by the media, I think. I know I was kind of. It still happens once in a while.

Don't talk to me about the Media! Rant! Rave! See that's the other good thing about being over 50 is you can go off on one and everyone just nods along because of your age!

Absolutely Dutchy! However after you hit 50 you become an expert in the
Paddington Hard Stare!
This enables you to make people look away from 50 paces.
(I always find it useful to mutter under my breath as well!)
