A mother is sueing nintendo because her son died from a seizure she claims the game caused it.

I would like to know how a mother can let her son play for eight hour a day, six days a week.

To me the mother is giulty of child neglect.

When i was growing up we dd not have video games i watched t.v. and it was after i did my homework and after my assigned duties. then i could watch t.v. that would be 3 hours at the most.

Because parents need to take more responsiblity for their kids. And don't new video games come with a warning about sizeures and stuff?? I mean I have not bought a new game in years but I thought they did.

BATON ROUGE, LA. A Louisiana woman is suing Nintendo, alleging her 30-year-old son suffered seizures after playing video games for eight hours a day, six days a week.

30years old? 8 hours a day 6 days a week?
where was his job?

There needs to be some kind of screener that tosses this pointless no chance lawsuits before they can clog up a judges time.

I mean wouldn't that be good work for a group of 2nd or 3rd year law students. Have a group of them in the courthouse with a Judge or two overseeing them as part of their normal duties.

Even the earliest Nintendo game came with a warning about using the system on a front projection TV and if you're epilectic.

She'll lose.

Every game I ever bought had some sort of disclaimer about siezures and stuff. I'm surprised they don't have hot coffee warnings too...just in case you get confused as to what you are buying...

That is just nuts!!! People have nothing better to do these days but sue big companies for money they don't deserve. I hope the judge laughs his ass off at such a stupid lawsuit and throws it right out. If an adult can't read the warnings and spends all their time playing a video game, they deserve to be smacked and told to get off their ass. My kids have a N64 and they only get to play it on weekends...and that's only if it's not nice enough outside to play. I can only stand the thing for about 2 hours a day too. People need to go out and get a life instead of spending it in front of a TV playing a game, and idiots that sue for everything under the sun need to get some common sense or be forced to live in the desert all by themselves.

I hope she loses.

However do we all not remember the little old woman who in six plus decades on the planet did not learn that coffee is hot?
She got close to half a million.

Fucking shame that there is even a question here.

Nah, he probably OD'ed licking Frogger.

Donkey Kong is innocent, I tell you!

well, that's what happens when you let your kids play "Japanese Fighting Seizure Robots" that damn long.

you'd think the name would be enough!

Holy shit ..... I hope they don't ever come to my house. We play video games constantly. But even for us .... 8 hours every day is too much. Although one weekend we went on a gaming binge and played all day and most of the night. But that is not an everyday happening. There are times we DO play every day .... especially when we have a new game we have been dying to play, but not 8 hours everyday.

When the addiction is that bad that you have no other life, then you need professional help. :(

Can I come over and play too? I'll let you win a game or two every now and then too. :)

The last time I played a game a very long time was when Final Fantasy 6 was released for the SNES. Damn, I was hooked on that.

I try not to play too long...don't want to get burnout donchaknow?

*Chuckle* Is it any different from a lit addiction *EG*

I feel for the mother....she is obvioulsly angry and lashing out. But really now, the game may have caused the seizures (hell, Spyro was yanked in Japan when it first came out because of this and the fact that it caused motion sickness in some), but for her to sue is just frivolous.

I fthe game company is liable for the outcome she is liable for not monitoring her child better.

Nic,
