Do thread ending posts give you a complex?

Nothing worse than throwing your heart (ot other body parts) out into a post only to watch it fade into oblivion...

Getting quite used to it myself. I like to see if a thread will live after I've posted to it. :D

Sometimes it's cool to be the last one to post on a thread. Look at WierdHarold. If someone posts a question, he's usually the last one on that thread because he answered it. Well, except for the thankyou's.

But when you pour your heart out on a thread and no one replies, it could just be that what you've said is very deep and they don't want to follow it. I tend to post a lot of smart remarks to try and get people to laugh. When someone pours their heart out, it's a tough act to follow, except for a big {{{HUG}}}

I think that if you say it all, completely covering all aspects of a question or issue, there just isn't anything left for anyone else to say.

(there, that should kill this one - moving on...)

nope but I play one from time to time...get me the KY and a flashlight

It really depends on the content of the thread. I started one yesterday looking for a particular movie. Someone found it, end of thread, other than my thank you. But, I have been the last post on more serious threads and I used to wonder if maybe it would have kept going if I hadn't posted. Doesn't bother me as much anymore because topics surface over and over again.

Thanks VBG...I'm gonna take this one and run with it

~feeling much better~

Used to piss me off. I'd be, like, "Post something you skanky bitches! I'm waiting!" Then I'd be all mopey. Happens on other forums, too. I post something, and that's it. Good-bye thread. It was nice knowing you.

Then I went through a phase where I took pride in being a mighty thread-killer. Their gristly deaths were my hunting trophies. Thousands of topics slaughtered before their time. Oh, the humanity.

I recently mentioned something about it to Mr. N., who said, "Oh no, you're not killing threads. You're resolving them."

These days it's about half-and-half. Sometimes I'll brutally murder a thread. Sometimes it survives despite me. What really pisses me off is when I post something, and the conversation goes on as if I was never there. That gets a big old 'fuck you too' from the Naudiz quarter.

Right now, I haven't had my coffee yet, and I don't give a shit about anything. So it's all good.

Good morning.

No. I am better at ending threads than you.

Well, you delivered the mortal blow to leXie's race relations /catfight thread.

Terrific post, just not in a humor context. You made everyone stop laughing.

At least I can copy & file it.

Maybe if Naudiz had been there, she could have done some quick thinking to restore the laughter.

Yes, I've done the same thing myself.

That's my favourite too. I've gotten numb to all the thread killing I do. Sometimes I wander to the end of the board just to see how many of them have my name on them...heh

I'm having one of those days today, online and RL, where everything I say just gets blithely ignored, and I swear, if it keeps up you'll all be seeing this face on the nightly news after a SWAT team has to take me down at a local mini-mall. Bah, I should be working anyway.

What gives me a complex is posting something hilarious and only one or two other people actually get it.

Alas.
