Do some of the editor statements strike anyone else as odd?

One of them is interested in langeree. One says that they'd be happy to read your story for you. And nothing else. Chat symbols like : ) do they really belong there? Heck one of them uses chat shorthand. I will edit for U! or some such thing. The one that made me shake my head was the one that promised that you'll get great scores from the readers if you use that person's services.

This is, quite honestly, mindbogglingly 'unprofessional' for unpaid volunteers. Do they get any business, I wonder?

Editor"s Comments

KM, I am still laughing ! I didn't realize that being an editor meant you didn't have to know anything! Shoot I'd have done it a long time ago if i'd known that :) Sort of stems back to sensous, you know sensous up can ya get me a beer ? :p Some people's kids--hehehe

My answer is covered in a few other threads I suppose, but many of those "editors" probably shouldn't be there. They either don't respond to you after you've sent your story/poem, or they'll send it back saying, very nice, I hope you write more.

Um, hello? What about the helping you "claim" to be doing?

I've got a story that's 2½ months old and I've been trying to figure out what to change or whatever to it, because only ONE editor was of any kind of help to me. I am of those who realize that this is a "free" service monitarily, but it's YOUR "work", you are writing to be read by many, not just one person who isn't really intending to help you out.

Lo
