I've heard this stated before. Women like having a close male friend with whom to confide and bounce things off of. Is this true for you?

Guys, do you have a girl-friend you confide in?

When things are really screwy...do you go to your best guy or to your best girl?

My only friend outside of Lit is male, but personally I prefer women. They just have better taste.

My best friend is a man, he's gay and whenever I need a shoulder to cry on its him I turn too. Don't get me wrong i have close female friends too, but I tend to relate better to my male friends.

Women can be bitchy, but men are just well down to earth, they don't pussyfoot around. You'll nearly always get an honest opinion out of them.

Hi JL :)

I very much enjoy my platonic women friends, some of whom are ex-lovers, and some of whom are not. Women friends are fascinating, and very good for confidences and talking relationship stuff and so forth...

But not all the time. When things get "screwy", just being and enjoying is the best medicine sometimes. And for that, there is no substitute for kicking back and hanging out with the boys, running with the pack... it's a guy thing.

I can vouch for this. I haven't been able to have one male friend that didn't sooner or later let me know he wants to fuck me.

I have 3 salt of the earth girlfriends that I know I can get a straight answer from and confide in. The sisters I know I can turn to.

So you have the best of both worlds?

Which is truly your best friend? A guy or a girl?

Flirting aside, I don't think that needs to be the case. I know a number of women, some of whom are quite attractive, where for whatever the reason is, the chemistry has never been there. So we've been friends for years, with no sexual moves made.

It depends on the person. Quite a few people don't have friendships with members of the opposite gender, unless there is sex involved on some level, hidden interest on not. Others delight in the opposite gender as friends, no need for anything sexual...

It varies. When I am with a lover, in an deeply emotionally involved relationship -- she needs to be my best friend, and I need to be hers. At least that is how it works for me.

For platonic friendships? I don't know how to answer that, because friendships with women are just plain... different... than with men. A woman friend is better for pouring my heart out to, talking through the emotions and details, when I need to do that. A male friend is better for getting perspective, for seeing that I am a guy and strong and independent, that women problems are a passing thing, and not as important as they can sometimes seem when you are caught up in the middle of them...

Make any sense from across the gender divide?

I have to agree but that is from past experiences. Most of the female friends I have had in the past turned out to be total bitches which is why the phrase "you can trust me" makes me clam up and not talk. I have had male friends that I can talk to about things and get some sound advice without it being broadcast everywhere. So when things get screwy in my life give me a close male friend to talk to everytime.

Morning JL!

Aww...soblue! I'll be friends with you and I'll try not to think about fucking you...um my...that's a lovely bra...

Okay no...I can really do this...

So Soblue...how are things going with you?

I have one male best friend and one female best friend. I love and adore them equally. I get a little something different from each of them. I trust both of them completely. I have always formed an easier connection with men as opposed to women though. However, in recent years I have been blessed with wonderful female friends. I can't really say men make better friends than women. Each situation and relationship is different and varies for me.

Morning JL!

Morning, A:heart:

How has your week been going?

Kiss M for me.;)

<Interrupting hi jack>

My guy friends I enjoy spending down time with but normally we don't get into the heavy stuff.

My female friends and I normally talk about things that a bit more indepth. We solve the problems of the world over beer and cigarettes.

Who do I turn to when it all seems wrong......depends on what version of wrong it is, male problems, life problems, etc. There isn't one that I turn to always.

I think I just accomplished nothing. I didn't answer the question at all but I did get to interrupt Rammie so its a good morning.

 's Rammie. You know I  you
