Do I belong here?

I want to be a guy's pet, but I'm not a submissive, I'm an assertive. I want to be pampered and petted, lounge around the house wearing nothing but a collar, or maybe ears and a tail. I would be cuddly and loving and cheer my owner up if he was sad. I definitely do not want to be degraded, I don't like pain, and I don't need or want any discipline. So, should I look for a relationship like that in a BDSM forum or a vanilla forum?

There's as many forms and flavors of BDSM as any other elationship, and I'm willing to bet there are people who are looking for the same kind of relationship you are. As to where to look, I think the BDSM section might give better results but I wouldn't close your horizons. And remember you are looking for a smaller subsection of the whole.

BDSM, bondage, submission, domination and masochim, you're only looking at the submission and domination aspect, the fact that you don't want the pain or really discipline isnt a necessary aspect of all of this.

No I'm not talking about submission and domination - think about real cats, they aren't submissive at all and you don't train or discipline them. I definitaly am NOT interested in being 'trained' - I am quite capable of maintaining my own self-discipline, I do not grant anyone but me the permission or moral authority to tell me what I should or shouldn't do.

For the most part you're right, you don't exactly train a cat as you would a dog, but they do get trained in some form. You sort of nudge them along rather than out right punish them. They learn what to do when they wish for attention, or to go out. And they learn what will get them kicked out early. There is some training involved, granted it's very subtle but it's there.

The other thing I would say would be to not limit yourself to one area. Chances are there are others out there that think the same way you do but think that it's not extream enough for a BDSM board. So why limit yourself to only half an audience?

At any rate good luck. There is nothing quite like being at the feet of some one having your head stroked and being told how good you are.

True, but you could also argue that the cat subtly trains it's owner too. I think all people train each other, that's a large part of what makes civilization. The important thing is to recognize that both people are equals, neither has any 'right' to order the other around, and both only stay around because they enjoy the other's company.

actually it is submission and domination, if you're a pet, you're owned by someone, that is submission, whether or not you take orders from them is your own decision

Your a very smart and head strong woman, you'll make a guy happy. I wouldn't know what to suggest you look for though.

I disagree because to me, submission is regarding someone else as your leader, giving them the responsibility to protect you and the right to direct you and establish rules for your behavior, while domination is taking responsibility for and authority over someone else.

submission can be both, there are varying degrees like I said, because like I said if you're a pet, you have an owner, that is a form of submission
