If you use Google Alerts to monitor someone else stealing your published work, what search criteria works best for you?
The story title might seem obvious, but that goes out the window if someone changes it when posting elsewhere, such as on YouTube or Amazon. The same with the author's name unless the person pilfering it gives you credit.
Key words, phrases, or sections of the story could be used, but I could see these generating a lot of false hits unless they were truly unique.
So, if you have found success using Google Alerts, please share your tips.
